New emulator for Android, called PPSSPP, lets you play those PSP games you love

A new emulator is currently being developed by the fine folk who brought the world the fully working Wii emulator called Dolphin for PCs. Apparently the developers got a hold of an Android device finally and decided to do what they do best, build an emulator. However, this particular emulator isn’t another GameBoy or console emulator, which we have plenty of. Instead, this emulator, called PPSSPP, is a Playstation Portable emulator for Android.

Amazon Games Studio release their first game, Air Patriots, for Android and the Kindle Fire

Amazon Games Studio has announced the launch of their ‘first’ game onto Android today called Air Patriots. While this is being called their first game release made in-house, this is technically not their first game released as Airport Mania happens to be their first published title. If you dive into it further, it can get a bit confusing as to who is making what since if you look at the Google Play link, it shows Southwinds Games in the URL while the account is actually under Lemon Team.

The upcoming SimCity game for PC will be getting a mobile spin-off

Electronic Arts has been showing off over the past month or so the next installment into the SimCity series of games for PC which, if I may say, looks pretty damn impressive. As a SimCity fan, next year’s game looks to be the best one yet. It’s also no secret that Electronic Arts, along with other developers, have made it rather a well known fact that most upcoming games will feature some sort of mobile tie-in, whether it be just social aspects of the game, companion apps that also affect their PC/Console counter-parts, or complete mobile versions of their games.

Pinball Arcade releases Table Pack 7, brings with it Elvira in Scared Stiff

More pinball news coming your way today but this time regarding Pinball Arcade by FarSight Studios. Pinball Arcade is almost the exact opposite of Zen Pinball in terms of the tables it comes with. Both are pinball platforms where you can purchase and play a variety of beautifully rendered pinball tables on your Android device. However, Zen Pinball features completely custom made tables, usually with Marvel themes to them, while Pinball Arcade takes actual pinball tables that existed and makes digital replicas of them for everyone to play.

Need for Speed: Most Wanted Review – Amazing game hampered by performance issues

Cops hot on your tail. Spike strips deployed. Roadblocks erected. Traffic whizzing by. Nitro boost. All these would sound familiar to anyone that’s played a variant of the Need for Speed racing franchise before. The studio behind Need for Speed: Most Wanted for mobile devices – Firemonkeys – has built the game by keeping the core essence of its console and PC predecessors, but fine-tuned things so that it suits the mobile market.

Gamelion announces Rage of the Gladiator, coming soon to Google Play

We already have one title from Gamelion we are waiting for, called League of Heroes, they have announced another game we can look forward to called Rage of the Gladiator. As you may be guessing, you’ll be playing the role of a Gladiator named Gracius, who happens to be battling it out for his life in arena combat. Instead of battling it out with other gladiators though, you happen to be fighting it out with rather large ‘epic bosses’ and creatures.

Death Dome Review: A good looking game that we’ve seen before

Death Dome, by Glu Mobile, is not really anything surprising. We’ve seen this same cycle play out before in all sorts of genres. One or two titles come out and create a demand for a certain style and we get to witness a parade of clones, games that attempt to not only copy the original success of those earlier titles but that often add nothing to the genre. Many gamers buy these copycat titles and relish in what is essentially more of the same thing, feeding the parade. It’s not that I mind players or developers who enjoy copycats and repeated mechanics. As long as everyone is having fun then all is good. The problem comes in when we have a harder time finding original content thanks to games like Death Dome taking up space on virtual shelf of the Play store.
