Under The Radar is a new column that we will be doing from time to time (it isn’t necessarily a weekly thing), the purpose of which is to showcase some good games that we may not have been able to publish as full articles on our website. Welcome to our new weekly feature where we allow you to vote for the best game that’s been released on Android for the past week. We will be highlighting a few of the best and highest profile games released, and you can make your selection from there. You’ll also find out the previous week’s winner as voted by you, our readers. Many people remember the day when Mika Mobile finally made the announcement that they would not be developing for Android anymore which left their games Zombieland USA and Battleheart in limbo in terms of future update, something that the iOS versions have gotten regularly. Well that all looks to be changing as Mika Mobile could be giving Android a second chance with their upcoming Battleheart sequel which is currently in development.
Herocraft has released a new title onto the Google Play store called Ant Raid. This little game is actually quite comical in both visuals and the sound effect departments but as simple as the gameplay is, it quickly gets to be rather challenging as well. You’ll be trying to keep your little ant colony alive against swarms of insects who happened to get mutated into mindless monsters.
[Updated] HyperDevBox unleashes their mech shooter sequel called ExZeus 2 for high-end Android devices
One of the first real mech-style arcade shooter games to land on Android was a game called ExZeus from HyperDevBox. This game featured some pretty impressive visuals for the time as well as some pretty hectic and enjoyable gameplay. Not too long ago we found out that a sequel was in the works, appropriately named ExZeus 2. Well that sequel is now available on Google Play and features console quality visuals and even more hectic shooting gameplay.
Soulcraft, a game that went into beta mode right at the beginning of this year, finally sees the light of the day as a “proper” release as the year fittingly comes to a close. The game, which has you playing as angel for now, features five different game modes set in diverse real-world locations that are depicted in cell shaded graphics such as Hamburg, New York, Great Wall of China and Venice.
All those who love 2D/3D fighting games along the lines of Tekken Street Fighter X will certainly do well to keep a lookout for Kinetic Damage, a game which is being developed by a one-man indie studio and is due for release in the not too distant future.
Thought we were done posting about sales this holiday season? We you would be wrong if you thought that although we don’t have too many more to report on. However, Gameloft looks to be expanding their last week’s sale of Wild Blood and Order & Chaos Online for $0.99 by making most of their games now on sale for a dollar.
If you happen to be old enough to remember the hay days of the arcade generation, most people from that generation will remember Dragon’s Lair which happens to be available for Android for awhile now. Well Dragon’s Lair has a futuristic cousin called Space Ace and he’s also now available on Google Play.
Last week the developers behind the MOGA mobile gaming system, PowerA, happen to be basically giving away MOGA units for one day where all buyers had to pay was the shipping. Those units should hopefully be already arriving to people who managed to et in on the deal and now PowerA has released a list of some of the newly released games that happen to support the MOGA controller.
