American McGee and Spicy Horse Games have cancelled their Kickstarter campaign they had running for their twisted Wizard of Oz themed game called OZombie, although that name was going to be changed to something else. This game was to feature Dorothy and friends who were out to stop a rather angry Scarecrow who was taking his anger out on everyone, turning them into zombies and draining all the imagination and creativity from the land.

While the decision was made official that it would not be another Alice game that Spicy Horse would be making with the appearance of the OZombie Kickstarter campaign the other day, at least not at first, the company has seen a bit of a bumpy road with the OZombie game as well.
American McGee’s Spicy Horse Games studio will be hitting up Kickstarter for funding their next game, they just don’t know what game that will actually be just yet. The company will be going onto Kickstarter in July to either fund the recently announced OZombie game, the Oz themed zombie game we reported on recently, or a new Alice game called Alice: Otherlands. However they will not make both.
American McGee’s, who developed the Alice: Maddness Returns game and owns Spicy Horse Games studio, has released a few more details about their upcoming new Oz game that we talked about only a few days ago. At the time the company didn’t even know what genre the game would be in or what it would all entail. Now we know that there will a Steampunk theme meshed into it as well as zombies.
American McGee’s upcoming Action-RPG Akaneiro: Demon Hunters has been successfully funded on Kickstater with reaching their goal of $200,000. This game, already in closed beta for PC, is also slated for release on Android and iOS but in order to get the game finished as completely as the developer’s wanted it to be, they actually had to turn to Kickstarter for additional funding.
Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is a game we’ve talked about a few times in the recent past. Developed by American MeGee and his company Spicy Horse Games, Akaneiro: Demon Hunters is a rather good looking action RPG that tells a rather twisted version of Red Riding Hood while meshing it with setting it in the Edo period of Japan, inspired by ancient demons, with hand-painted visuals.
Veteran game designer American McGee has just released his cross-platform turn-based shooter Crazy Fairies onto the web via Kongregate, Facebook and the game’s official website. Soon, however, mobile gamers will be able to battle it out in Crazy Fairies as the game is slated for release onto iOS and Android later this year.
