The board game industry is a booming one, growing significantly over the last few years. With this uptick, I can’t say that I’m surprised to see physical board games being ported over to mobile and PC. Mysterium is the latest example of this trend. In this game, players will be helping to solve a murder mystery, with the help of the deceased.
I had the unique pleasure of checking out The Revenge of Johnny Bonasera game which is based on a kid who is bullied and picked on by some larger, unscrupulous neighborhood punks. These punks abuse both Johnny and his sandwich which causes Johnny to take the law into his own hands to serve a bit of justice. There is actually a map of the neighborhood in which the main character, Johnny travels.
Released by phime studio LLC, InterLOGIC is a puzzler that revolves around the idea of clearing the board. In this game, players will be controlling a small robot, and guiding it around boards of various shapes, in order to push around the colored tiles that litter the floor.
Released by Wuhu Apps, Circularity is a puzzle game where players are looking to navigate a small dot to the end of the course. Players will be looking to not only finish the course though, but also snap up objectives along the way, which come in the form of small yellow circles. The end of the course isn’t “activate” until all these other dots are collected.
Bandai Namco has pushed out a fairly big update for their Digimon Heroes! game on Android. For those of you not familiar with this game, this is a card battler that features creatures, characters, and pretty much everything else from the Digimon franchise. As of right now there is over 1000 Digimon characters in this game for you to collect.
tinyBuild’s party busting PC game called Party Hard will be getting a pretty big update this month called Party Harder. For those of you not familiar with this game, you’ll be a neighbor to a house that has constantly loud parties all the time and you’ve finally decided that you’re tired of them and go out to do something about it.
Set in a post-pandemic world, Nyheim is a game about rebuilding and survival after most of humanity was wiped out. While the origin of the virus is unclear, a rat does become infected with it. Its symptoms within the rat include increased testosterone production, as well as heightened aggression, which inevitably leads to both it’s rampant spread among other rats, and eventually the transference of it to humans. Switch it to monkeys and you have the 28 Days Later movie.
Humble Bundle has started up a new mobile focused bundle this morning called the Humble Mobile Bundle Board Games edition. As you are probably guessing with this particular name, all of the games in this bundle are board games. Interestingly enough, this bundle also features a slightly adjusted 3 tier layout for the first time.
Niantic Labs has released a new update for Pokemon GO which addresses a few different bugs that have been squashed with the arrival of this update. However, while bug fixes are always good, the real news comes from within the added coding of this update, which has been datamined and found to contain hints at the arrival of 100 new Pokemon soon, many of which fall into the 2nd generation of creatures in the franchise.
Halloween is all about getting a bunch of goodies to munch on over the next couple of months, probably netting at least a couple of people out there a cavity or two.
