Back in the middle of July we reported on a new Nintendo DS emulator that was being developed for Android called DraStic. One of the bigger claims that this emulator makes is that it is a high speed emulator which is good since it seems like most Nintendo DS emulators tend to not run at full speed and actually end up running pretty slowly. Of course that is partly also dependent on what device you’re running it on.

Amazon has announced a new expansion plan that doesn’t involve expanding their service to new countries but instead expanding their catalog of apps and games available through their app store. However these won’t be coming in the typical fashion everyone is used to and that is because these will be web applications made using languages like HTML5.
Google loves to add Easter Eggs to pretty much everything they release and so far it looks like every single one of them has been found… at least to everyone’s knowledge that is. Well Google’s newest application is no exception to the rule which means the Google Play Games app that arrived yesterday has an Easter Egg that has been discovered.
We haven’t had emulator news in a little while now but today that is going to change as a port of the Open Pandora DS Emulator called DraStic is making its way over to Android real soon. For those of you unfamiliar with this emulator, DraStic is a full speed DS Emulator which will let you play Nintendo DS games on your Android device.
One of the more popular emulators for Android has been updated with some rather cool features. eSPXe‘s update now will support that MOGA controller you happen to own and is able to sync up with the MOGA Pivot app. It will also support wireless Xbox controllers as well now with Ms USB Receiver.
It was not too long ago that Amazon went after the whole centralized game hub idea for things like leaderboards and achievements. Similar to the newly released Google Play Games service in some ways, Amazon’s GameCircle doesn’t have all the features that Google’s service provides and until now the GameCircle service was completely limited to Amazon devices only and games purchased through Amazon’s AppStore.
Xbox One and the Playstation 4 are both pushing the second-screen experience with plenty of their major titles. For those of you not familiar with what the second-screen experience is, basically this offers up the ability to access exclusive content, manipulate in-game features and other goodies when your phone or tablet connects to one of these consoles.
Ubisoft’s companion app for their Watch Dogs game has essentially been turned into a game itself. Technically this is more of a game than an app although it really is a bit of both. Regardless of what exactly this application now is, Watch Dogs Live has undergone a soft launch in Canada to do some final testing before it launches worldwide. When that happens, if you’re at the top of the leaderboard when the game end, you’ll win a car.
TwitchTV’s application on Google Play will soon be getting an update that will allow you to follow your favorite streamers that you like to watch. It has been well stated that the application has been missing a few key features that users would have liked to have seen when it originally launched and hopefully this is the beginning of bringing some of those features to the app.
The next game to come out of the Mojang camp is a hybrid deck building strategy game called Scrolls. While Scrolls is a TCG style of game it also mixes other mechanics into it such as tower defense gameplay, board game mechanics and, of course, all the features that come along with a collectible card combat game.
