While this news isn’t 100% related to Android gaming directly, it does affect possible Android game developers who live in Canada and have been wanting to crowdfund a future game that they would like to work on. Today Kickstarter has announced that it will begin accepting Kickstarter campaigns based out of Canada later this Summer.

While Kickstarter remains the top dog when it comes to crowdfunding, there are a few other sites out there like IndieGoGo that are also fairly popular when it comes to crowdfunding projects. A new one has popped up called GameLaunched and this particular site is dedicated to crowdfunding projects related to video games.
Aoineko Studios has recently started up a Kickstarter project for a full 3D RPG title called Kitaru which is slated for release on multiple platforms including Android. The Kickstarter project has been up for about two weeks and has already passed the halfway mark for funding.
When I was little boy, my mom and dad would always take me into Radio Shack because I liked to look at the toy robots and other gizmos the store had for sale. I also remember being completely fascinated by a computer game that featured chess pieces actively killing each other with every move. I can only assume with my limited memory that this game was some version of Battle Chess. Recently, a Kickstarter campaign got underway to bring a Battle Chess sequel to multiple platforms including Android.

The epic and classic RPG called Shadowrun is hoping to make a return to the gaming scene with a new title appropriately named Shadowrun Returns. This time, however it won’t just be for the old school consoles. This new game will be for PC’s, iOS and Android tablets.

We posted last week a short list of some of the games we found on the more major crowdfunding sites out there on the interwebs and the response was pretty good. So we will be doing a weekly round-up of new titles available that need funding while keeping an eye on the ones we’ve already mentioned.
