Nvidia has released a new promotional video for their Android Shield TV unit but unlike the usual commercials that get released, this one is a bit different. This features a man with a crafted living room, complete with a couch, a cat, TV, and the Shield TV, falling 10,000 feet through the sky. While he’s tumbling towards the ground below, he plays a few games on the Shield TV.

With news coming out yesterday that the Forge TV is no longer for sale on Google’s Store, everyone has been speaking the inevitable doom of the company’s set-top box. We mentioned it didn’t make sense that after Razer’s purchase of Ouya that they would just simply let their Android TV initiative die and that perhaps they were getting ready for a new release for the Forge TV or another similar device. As it turns out, that could be exactly what they are doing.
Google has announced that your Android Wear watch will no longer need to be connected to your Android phone in order to have data access and online capabilities. This is all thanks to the new cellular support that Google has brought to Android Wear as of yesterday’s announcement.
Vuzix has announced today that their iWear VR headset has won eight different International CES 2016 Innovation awards including two “Best Of” awards, one for gaming and one for Virtual Reality. Razer’s set-top box that has a focus on multi-media entertainment, and especially with gaming, has had its status changed to no longer available for purchase on the Google Store. This means Google probably has no plans to restock this set-top box. That doesn’t mean it is dead in the water though, although it isn’t that great of a sign of things either.
Recently it was announced that the Consumer Edition of the Samsung Gear VR headset would be hitting store shelves in the near future (November) and would cost a mere $100. Well pre-orders are now live for the new VR headset over on BestBuy as well as Samsung’s own website, and still for the mere $100 price tag as well.

The Touchjet Pond Projector is now available and turns your wall into a giant touchscreen Android tablet
Back in August of this year we reported on a rather cool device called the Touchjet Wave. What this device does is turn your current HDTV into a giant touchscreen Android tablet basically. One of the issues some people pointed out was that this would lead to a ton of finger prints on your TV, especially with kids, even though you don’t actually have to touch the screen for it to register as a tap. Well it looks like Touchjet decided to make a new device that solves this problem called the Touchjet Pond.
Mobile gaming is really strictly mobile anymore these days. With programs like Bluestacks (and others) or services like Nvidia’s GeForce Now gaming-on-demand, and GameStream, you can pretty much play Android games on any platform you want, besides consoles, as well as playing other platform’s games on Android. The line between all the video game platforms has thinned out a lot.
