Disney launched their multi-platform ‘world’ full of games and things players can do, including creating pretty much whatever they want in that world, about 2 years ago. It’s a lot like Skylanders in the way of using physical toys (characters) that can be scanned into the game world and used by the player that scanned them in.

Disney Infinity Toy Box: 2.0 has finally been released on Google Play, but how does it hold up on mobile? I’ve been playing around with the features the new-to-Android game offers up. Although I’ve been a Disney Infinity fan since the first game’s release, and pretty much a Disney fanatic since I was old enough to speak, I’m going to do my best as any decent game “journalist” (I use that term very loosely) would and give my honest opinion.
Disney Infinity: Toy Box 2.0 launched a few days ago on Google Play, April 27th to be specific. However I was busy and it completely passed me by, and as the resident Disney nerd on staff, I apologize for not covering it sooner.
Disney has announced that they will be delaying the launch of their big cross-platform toy and video game project called Disney Infinity. Back in January Disney announced a rather huge project that they had been working on where it blended physical toys with actual video gaming. The gaming portion of the project is cross-platform including mobile and features a sandbox style of gameplay but it is much more than that. Think Skylanders but on a much more massive and interactive, ever expanding scale.
Disney just finished holding their press event this afternoon where they have officially announced something they have been hinting at for the past few month: Disney Infinity. This is a rather huge project from Disney that is going to be a massive cross-platform sandbox gaming platform that breaks past the barriers of digital platforms and invades toys as well. Think Skylanders but on a much more massive and interactive, ever expanding scale.
