Natural Motion Games has finally released CSR Racing on a worldwide scale on Google Play today. Originally released as a location-specific test run last week, the game is now available for drag racing fans everywhere to download. Herocraft has decided to give a couple of games away starting today for free over on Google Play. Both games are puzzle games with one being a match-3 style of game called Birds on a Wire, while the other is a more physics-based game called Catch the Candy which we have talked about in the past.
10Tons Ltd has released a rather interesting game, at least in terms of its theme anyways. The game is called Clowns in your Face and has players following a certain fellow by the name of Peter Pagassi who is on a mission to eliminate every clown that crosses his path since they all happen to be high on Explodz energy drink.
It seems like January 2013 was a pretty decent month for upcoming game announcements and now it seems that April is going to be the month where a lot of those games that were announced will be finally making their way to Google Play. First we have Final Fantasy: All The Bravest this morning, albeit in Japan only right now, and now we have Hills of Glory 3D (published by AMA Ltd) which was also announced back in January.
Back in January we talked about Square Enix who, at the time, were teasing some upcoming game that ended up being Final Fantasy: All The Bravest. After the unveiling on January 17th that it was in fact that game, it was also mentioned it was an iOS release which is why we never really followed up on the story. Well as it turns out, Square Enix had Android plans for it as well.
Earlier in 2012 we started talking about a rather entertaining game called Eden to GREEEEN from iNiS Corp. which was heading to Tegra-based Android devices. Back then we also got to sit down during GDC 2012 and get some hands-on time with the game and it was certainly quite a fun game even though we only had a short time with it. It also seems that instead of publishing the game themselves, iNiS Corp. has let Zynga publish Eden to Green onto Google Play instead.
Recently we mentioned that the newest addition to Gameloft’s Dungeon Hunter franchise would be arriving this month and now rumor has it that it will be arriving tomorrow. Dungeon Hunter 4 is going back to the majority of the franchise’s roots from the first couple of games where there was a storyline and actual dungeons to crawl your way through, killing monsters and getting to loot.
If you’ve been following the news here recently about all the different types of controllers, peripherals and console type devices coming out that are Android powered, then you probably remember us talking about the Green Throttle controller a few times already. The controller and accompanying application, for those of you who are not familiar with it, basically allows gamers to play Android games on their TVs basically like a console with the big feature being that most of the game are geared towards multiplayer gaming.
We get to talk about a lot of hybrid games, as we like to call them anyways, where developers take two or more of the traditional game genres and mesh them together to create something unique and different. Usually this turns out pretty decently and there is never an end to the surprise of genres developers are willing to blend together. Stereo Ride by ArtofBytes and Moarbile Games is one of those surprises that has somehow flown under the radar as it has been out for a little while now.
