Yesterday we took the day off because it was my birthday and the night before we had already started celebrating it. However, yesterday morning, in an attempt to at least give you, our readers, a heads up on a few items of news before taking the day off, I jumped onto our social media networks to let you know about a couple of games. One bit of information was that Madfinger Games had released an update themed around Halloween for their FPS game Dead Trigger.
We had a feeling more of the Grand Theft Auto series would be coming to mobile and it seems that Rockstar has gone ahead and confirmed this today as they have officially announced that Grand Theft Auto: Vice City will be arriving to iOS and Android later this Fall. This release, similar to Grand Theft Auto III‘s release, is to celebrate Vice City’s 10th anniversary since it was released back on October 29th, 2002.
The developers of a new 3D turn-based RPG has hit up Kickstarter for funding to help finish their game called Beasts & Blades. However, unlike a lot of Kickstarter projects, which usually don’t have any sort of playable alpha or beta, mostly just some video footage of it, Beasts & Blades have a playable beta which only Android users can get a hold of for free and start playing the game already.
Vector Unit’s newest racing game Beach Buggy Blitz has gotten an update that, like a lot of updates happening these days, brings with it some Halloween goodies for you to enjoy. Aside from all the Halloween stuff though, Beach Buggy Blitz is now compatible with most modern Android devices including Samsung Galaxy S3 and S2, HTC One series and more.
The next generation of the Samsung Galaxy Note, appropriately named the Samsung Galaxy Note II, has officially gone on sale for those of you who have been eagerly waiting to get your hands on this new device. Depending on the route you take in acquiring one, you can purchase it for $370 on-contract through T-Mobile or, if you want to get it a little cheaper, you can hit up Wirefly where it is currently going for $279 with a new two-year contract.
Rovio has released their annual Halloween update, officially called Haunted Hogs, for their Angry Birds Seasons game and this time you won’t be smashing pumpkins and pigs outside. Instead the pigs have gone into hiding inside a haunted house, being careful of ghosts and other spooky things while trying to take the pigs out and get their eggs back. Did we mention there is also a new block you’ll have to deal with?
While October 29th is only five days away, which is when Google will be having an event in New York which everyone is pretty much guess will be the official announcement of the Nexus 4 device, probably something to do with Android 4.2 and even possibly the Nexus 10 tablet. One thing is for certain, something with a Nexus will be involved.
If you are old enough to remember the good ole arcade days where you could drop a silly amount of quarters into a game or fifty in less than a few hours from the time you entered the arcade. One game that was quite popular was called Legend of Kage and now it looks like this arcade classic gets to live on but instead of in an arcade, it gets to live now on our Android devices thanks to developers RunSystem Corp.
While there are plenty of tower defense and siege games out there on the Google Play store, very few have you playing as the offensive party and not the defensive one. However, that is exactly what happens in a new game by Flare Games called Royal Revolt. Wrapped up in some solid 3D graphics, you will be in charge of trying to take back your father’s castles that has been stolen from you.
While not an entirely new game these days, 10tons’ Boom Brigade 2 is still a great game to play and now those of you who have Kindle Fire devices can snag a copy of this rather unique game off of the Amazon AppStore finally. For those of you unfamiliar with the game, let us dive into it a little to help refresh your memory a bit.
