Tegra Zone, which is nVidia’s marketplace to buy/download Tegra 2 optimized games for your Android devices that have a Tegra 2 inside them, seems to be the source of an interesting bit of information. While we had planned to post this yesterday, we were waiting to find out some other information regarding this first.
As you may have expected, the Xperia Play was all over the place at GDC 2011 and we had plenty of time to play lots of games on them. While not literally cracking the camera on the phone we were using, Qualcomm’s recent AR developer challenge brought in some great games with the winner being a game called Paparazzi. In this game you are the paparazzi and your job is to make money getting the best picture you can of the character that appears.
GDC 2011 is only a few days away and as it gets closer, the rumors are starting to fly. One such rumor is that iOS developer Firemint is planning to unveil their Real Racing 2 game ported over to Android. Real Racing 2 has won multiple awards since its release onto the App Store and Firemint is now looking to unleash it onto Android as well.
Xperia Play to launch March 28? Unlocked version already up for pre-orders at Play.com and Expansys USA.
According to numerous sites both in the media and ones that sell mobile devices, the apparent launch date for public sale for the Xperia Play will be March 28, 2011. While this is a little over a month away still, some sites already have the unlocked edition of the Xperia Play up for pre-order but the prices are all over the place.
German company, Rumble Media, has opened the doors to their newest site called PlayAndroid which is a portal dedicated to nothing but Android games. This discovery portal is geared towards trying to help solve the problem of finding good high-quality games on the Android Market. Granted the new web-based market helps with that a bit.

Awhile ago we reported on the rumor that games for the Xperia Play would be priced at the $10 or lower mark and recent news seems to be supporting this fact. Galaxy of Fire 2 is slated for release on the Xperia Play at launch and will be priced at $9.99. Dungeon Defenders: Second Wave will also be ‘under $10’.
