Rovio’s Angry Birds spin-off game, Bad Piggies, has been out for about a three week ago and it is apparently already time to push out it’s first update. While there isn’t a whole of information regarding this update just yet, we do know that it will be called Flight in the Night, which you can see proof of in the video below (skip to 00:11 to see it).
The recently released spin-off game from the Angry Birds universe, called Bad Piggies, has only been out for a short time but it seems the bad pigs are not content with having their own game finally. In the true spirit of wanting everything the birds have, Bad Piggies has invaded the vanilla Angry Birds game in a new update. Oh, and now Angry Birds comes with power-ups?!
There is a new cross-over that will be coming to the world of Angry Birds and will completely themed around Star Wars. This morning the official announcement event will be happening in Time Square over in New York at 10am EST but we’ve already learned more about this new game along with when it will be arriving and yes, it will be a whole new game. Think of Angry Birds Rio but instead with Star Wars.
Rovio, once known solely for their Angry Birds games which involved slinging birds into pigs (or in one case, cages), has now diversified its gaming portfolio. Their previous game, Amazing Alex, was a puzzler which required you to come up with crazy contraptions to solve simple tasks. Now, they’ve married the antagonists from the Angry Birds universe with the puzzling and contraption-heavy nature of Amazing Alex to come up with Bad Piggies.
We’ve been covering Rovio’s newest game as it slowly made it’s way to an actual release date. Just as Rovio had stated it would be, Bad Piggies has finally arrived onto Android, bringing with it the tried and true gameplay mechanics from two different titles, Angry Birds and Amazing Alex, except there are no birds to fling or a child genius to appease.
Regardless of what country this would have come from, the fact that you can accuse a video game, and the company, with cyber warfare is an amusing concept but that is exactly what is happening with Rovio over two levels in the recent “Fry Me to the Moon” update for Angry Birds Space by the Iran Computer & Video Game Foundation. The charge? The two levels in Angry Birds Space are anti-Iranian levels in theme.
The spin-off of the Angry Birds franchise featuring the pigs is nearing it’s slated release date of September 27th, 2012 and while we do know a few things about the game, there hasn’t been any real gameplay footage or screenshots released for Bad Piggies. Well now we can actually see how the game will play out thanks to a new video showing the new game off.
Rovio’s next game in the Angry Birds universe is actually the one we have been talking about for months on and off. The new game, which originally was rumored to be focused on the Pig’s side of the story, was later confirmed in August and now we have a release date for Bad Piggies. We also know a little bit more about what this game will actually be.
Legendary rocker Freddie Mercury will soon be joining the Angry Birds family at some point this week thanks to a partnership between Rovio and Freddie For A Day. In order to celebrate the late rocker’s life, who’s birthday is on September 5th, the partnership will have Freddie Mercury joining the cast of Angry Birds as an honorary member.
Rovio, through their Bad Piggies Twitter account, released a new video to tease everyone about what we are guessing is the upcoming pig-themed game called Bad Piggies. It’s been rumored for awhile that Rovio would be making a new game in the Angry Birds universe that would tell the story from the pig’s perspective and this could very well be it.
