If you haven’t had your fill of the Galaxy Tablet in the news yet then you’re in luck as a double header landed early this morning regarding a new 7-inch Galaxy Tablet by Samsung which includes their new, thinner Super AMOLED screen technology. On top of that, a possible prototype of the rumored 10.1-inch version of the Galaxy Tablet was also spotted.

While this doesn’t come as a huge surprise considering that all the Galaxy S phones so far include SRs 5.1 Mobile for surround sound, it is still a noteworthy announcement considering that up until now there was no word on what sort of audio we can expect with the Samsung Galaxy Tablet. Alright, this is strictly a devil’s advocate kind of post. Personally my daily phone right now is a Nexus One and the thought of a Nexus Two is more then a delicious one, however, there are a few reasons that the upcoming Nov. 8th announcement by Samsung will not be regarding a Nexus Two phone along with it being the first to have Gingerbread 2.3 running on it.

VDCC (Verizon Developer Community Conference) was fairly interesting on a few levels. First we found more proof that indeed Unreal Engine is heading for Android. Secondly, Asokan Thiyagajan who is the Director of Platforms & Technology Strategy for Samsung inadvertently revealed more details about the upcoming Samsung Tablets. Yes that is plural.
Orion will include 1080p video decoding and encoding at 30 frames/second, support for 3 active displays, HDMI and GPS on chip. Orion is set to replace the processor codenamed Hummingbird in Galaxy S devices like the Vibrant, Captivate, Epic 4G and Fascinate. It will be sold to OEMs and be offered to select customers in the first half of 2011.
As you may have read my overview then you will know that the over all impression of the Galaxy S series as a gaming platform is pretty high. Right now I am looking at the T-mobile Vibrant version and everything wrote here is based on that unit only. The Galaxy S series is broken into 4 different phones, 1 for every major carrier.
