Android users have a choice with so many things. That is why a lot of people choose Android devices, because of the flexibility the OS provides. We have the Google Play Store and the Amazon App Store. Though most people probably use the Google Play Store as their primary source for apps, every now and then, if a game or app is unavailable in the Play Store, you can always check the Amazon App Store to see if it is available there. With only a few days left before Christmas everyone with an Android device can expect a ridiculous amount of games being put on sale over the next day or two. There are plenty already on sale and even more happening as well and Sega has jumped into the mix by putting most of their Sonic The Hedgehog titles on sale for Christmas.
It’s about the time where the week is coming to a close and we round-up all the Android games that are currently on sale on Google Play. A lot of the games from our Mid-Week Android Games Sale Round-up are still on sale but there are a few additions to the list.
Sonic The Hedgehog is celebrating its 23rd anniversary and to help with the celebration Sega has put a few of the blue hedgehog’s games on sale both on Amazon’s AppStore and Google Play. There are a total of four games on sale for a limited time with savings of up to 70% off.
Ouya looks to be getting some love from the famous blue hedgehog thanks to Sega announcing plans to bring a few Sonic The Hedgehog titles over to the Android-powered console soon. Sonic The Hedgehog 4 Episode 1, Episode 2 and Sonic CD will all be making their way to Ouya shortly.
Sega has released, as a bit of a surprise, the original Sonic The Hedgehog game onto Google Play this morning. While this is the original game, the visuals have been remastered as well as support for widescreen resolution, sporting a smooth 60 frames-per-second or at least that is what Sega is claiming.
Sonic fans have yet another game filled with blue hedgehog goodness to look forward to as Sega has announced during GDC that thy will be bringing the original Sonic the Hedgehog game to Android sometime next month. This is the original game but has been reworked with controls for touch screens devices.
Sega stated that after Sonic 4 Episode II that there would be no more Sonic 4 games heading to Android or iOS. That doesn’t mean that there won’t be any more Sonic games at all and to prove it, Sega has begun teasing a new Sonic themed game that is slated for release onto iOS and it is looking promising for Android as well. So what is the new game? Sonic Jump.
While we are all eagerly awaiting the next addition to the Sonic franchise to land on Android, some rather possible sad news is coming to light about the franchise’s future. According to an interview with the Sonic Team’s producer Takashi Iizuka, Sega currently has no plans for an Episode III.
More information, including yet another great trailer, has come out during MWC 2012 from nVidia and Sega regarding Sonic 4 Episode II. This new information includes details about the Tegra 3 enhanced version of the blue hedgehog’s next installment into his franchise.
