So as the dust settles through a flurry of rumors and half details earlier this afternoon, it seems as though some sense is now coming out of the whole OnLive fiasco. Rumors from OnLive shutting down today and entire staff lay-offs, Bankruptcy filing and pretty much everything else you can stuff in there have been floating around.

Among all the tower defense games you can find in the Android ecosystem nowadays, there is one that almost every TD development studio has sunk their teeth into: Castle Defense or Siege is a genre that has gone mainstream lately, and that should be no surprise since it’s the perfect fit for both casual and hardcore players. While people might think it all boils down to hitting that touchscreen as fast as you can to get an arrow or bullet through every moving thing out there, there will always be an Upgrade system, or a full arsenal to be unlocked or bought through IAP.
Moments ago a wild rumor spread across the Twitter space about OnLive apparently closing their doors today out of nowhere and that they were laying off their entire staff. The rumor also suggested that a new company would be formed but all OnLive staff would be laid off.
Gameloft’s Order & Chaos Online MMORPG for iOS and Android will be getting a new, rather large, update soon which will bring team-based PvP arenas to the game. It looks like the next few months could be the months of sequels as Glu Mobile has begun teasing the next addition to the Eternity Warrior series. There is a new game in the works right now from Digital Legends called The Respawnables which will bring some fast-paced third-person shooter action to iOS and Android soon. Featuring a sort of cartoon style to the visuals that looks similar to that found in Team Fortress 2, this should be a pretty interesting game when it arrives.
Developers at HandyGames have just flipped the page we were currently in with their previous revamp of Townsmen, which we talked about a couple of days ago. Now, they’re back in the puzzle gamess territory with a new game that will get to that part of your heart you try to avoid from time to time: your helpless love for puppies.
There are times when a new game is released and it totally slips under our (and in some cases everyone’s) radar. Well, that’s the story with Total Recall – The Game – Ep1, which is based on the original Total Recall movie (not to be mistaken with the other Total Recall game which is a tie-in with the remake of the original) starring Arnold Schwarzenegger.
Sega has started a back to school sale and while iOS users see more of a benefit than Android gamers do, since more games are discounted on iOS, you can still nab a couple of games for at fairly decent discounted price. Both Sonic CD and Sonic 4: Episode II are now on sale for a limited time. There is also a twist to this sale that might interest some of you out there.
The newest update for Dead Trigger has finally been released today and coming along with it is a lot of goodies for everyone as well as those who purchased the game before it went free, something Madfinger Games said they would do in order to reward those who bought the game for a buck.
