There is a new game on the Android Market that came out Oct. 1st called Mars Defender: Space RPG and although it states RPG in the title of the game, it actually also blends in a great deal of arcade space shooting fun typically found in arcade games.

While normally we don’t usually post about games ‘probably’ coming to Android too often, Botanicula by Dev Amanita is an interesting point-and-click exploration game that, even though it’s probably coming to Android (and iOS), we are hoping it actually does make that jump.
Right now we are nearing the release of two new chipsets for Android devices, both of which are quad-core. Qualcomm S4 is slated for release sometime in 2012 while nVidia’s Kal-El (Tegra 3) Chipset will start appearing in tablets within the next couple of month while phones will start appearing in Q1 2012.
Angry Birds Rio on the Android Market just received an Airfield Chase update which will bring a conclusion to the Airfield Chase episode that recently came out. Among the new levels that come with this update, there also happens to be a new boss fight as well.
An indie game development studio called Games Lab Apps has released a collection of four old school arcade games onto the Android Market. When we say old school arcade games we mean seriously old school. Like the mechanical arcade games people used to play for a penny back in the day before electronic arcade games came about.
After a short delay of about a week, Minecraft developers Mojang have fixed whatever the nasty little bug that was plaguing the non-Xperia Play version of Minecraft: Pocket Edition which ended up getting last week’s release of this game to everyone else delayed.

It’s been awhile since we last saw Kristen Schaal running around in an Xperia Play commercial being funny yet somewhat disturbing at the same time. Luckily for you, should you be missing her Xperia Play antics, she is back in a new clip promoting Minecraft as well as a new contest.
Sony Ericsson and EA have teamed up to bring owners of the Xperia Play four games for free for a short period of time. Well actually it’s not that short of a period of time so even if you don’t have an Xperia Play but plan on getting one in the near future, you can still take advantage of this offer.
While the majority of us are sitting here waiting for Minecraft: Pocket Edition to finally get released at some point today for all Android devices 2.2 and up, there is a neat little 3D platform game that landed on the Android Market today as well called Helium Boy.
Rovio sent out a tweet a few minutes ago about ‘Something really cool is brewing for Angry Birds”. Along with this little statement was a picture which shows three birds walking into an eerie looking forest while wearing what looks to be costumes.
