The latest Tegra 3 tablet rumors: HTC and Acer join the party

Over the past 24 hours or so there have been plenty of rumors floating around about upcoming Tegra 3 quad-core tablets that could be heading our way. While the Asus Transformer Prime is official, Lenovo recently got some news time with their apparent Tegra 3 tablet that is coming. Now HTC and Acer are joining the party.

Yesterday Acer got some headline time as word of a couple of tablets coming from them were going to be stuffed with Tegra 3 quad-core chipsets. The WiFi-only A700 and GSM-equipped A701will apparently also be coming with full 1080p HD displays that will be running at a ridiculous 1920×1200 resolution. This would also make these tablets winners of having the highest resolution of any tablet currently available. Both tablets are also rumored to be running Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0) when they are released, although when that is exactly is unknown. Both of these will also be 10.1″ in size.

Today there is a rumor that another HTC device will be sporting a Tegra 3 quad-core chipset as well, this time though it’s a tablet which is named the HTC Quattro. Another 10.1″ tablet that is also rumored to be shipping with Ice Cream Sandwich (Android 4.0). This particular tablet won’t be sporting the massive 1920×1200 resolution though and instead is apparently going to be coming with a 1200×768 resolution. Other hardware specs that were leaked include 1GB of RAM, 16GB storage plus an SD card slot, 2MP HD rear-camera, 1.2 HD front-facing camera, Bluetooth 5GHz Wifi, and optional 3G. This tablet will also most likely come with Beat Audio on it.

As with all things rumor-based and ‘leaked’, as convincing as some leaks are like the Acer one, take it with a grain of salt. It does seem though that a lot of companies are really going to push the Tegra 3 chipset though doesn’t it?
