Welcome to the land of success and ridiculous amounts of money Rovio! The developer of the insanely popular game Angry Birds are projecting revenue from the Android version (only the Android version) of roughly 1 million per month from ads displayed in-game. While numbers vary on downloads with reports of 5-8 million, at this point it is a huge amount of money.

With Angry Birds Seasons now available for iOS and Android, getting updates out shouldn’t be too much of a hassle, at least we would hope so. PocketGamer is stirring up the rumor mill with a post talking about the next update for the ‘Seasons’ version of Angry Birds. What is it? Valentine’s Day according to them!
As we mentioned last week, the Christmas version of Angry Birds was coming to Android. Well the wait is over and Angry Birds ‘Seasons’ has been released onto the Android Market. Why ‘Seasons’? Because aside from the 25 levels for Christmas, there are also 45 levels from the Halloween version we missed out on back in October.
International Angry Birds Day, December 11 – In case you haven’t had enough Angry Birds in your life
As the title suggests, if you haven’t had enough Angry Birds in your life so far then there is good news for you! Dubbed International Angry Birds Day, this December 11th, 2010, there will be meet-ups around the world to celebrate Angry Birds. Currently there are 117 meet-ups planned at the time of writing this with more to surely be organized.
In what was to be a historic event, the Angry Birds and their enemies, the Pigs, sat down on live tv to go through the final day of peace talks. While tension was thick in the air, everything was progressing somewhat nicely until the end when one bird decided to get brave, causing the Pigs to grab the eggs and try to escape. Some eggs did not make it out though.
Just after writing the previous post regarding NOVA 2 game art I happened to spot an interesting tweet that mentioned there would be no Angry Birds 2 by Rovio. While this may be a bit confusing considering what Rovio CEO, Peter Vesterbacka, said at the Virtual Goods Summit the other day, it could mean a couple things.
Angry Birds developer Rovio recently talked at the Virtual Goods Summit in London about future plans with their flagship game and something interesting came to light. While it is no surprise, and heavily reported on, that Angry Birds will be heading to consoles soon as well as a TV show and a movie, mention of a sequel came up.
A few days back we brought to light a game called SheepRun that had some strikingly similar user interface designs to that of Angry Birds by Rovio. Since then we have had many people mention that the level design was almost a complete copy of another Flash game called Home Sheep Home. SheepRun Beta is now not available on the Android Market.
A few days back we posted about a game we found and tried out called SheepRun which seems to be a mix of physics and Lemmings style gameplay. Aside from the fact it was a pretty interested game (still in beta) the main thing that caught our eye was the user interface which looked ridiculously like Angry Birds’ user interface, so we shot off an email to Rovio.
Everyone who has been playing Angry Birds will be pleased with this announcement. Rovio has released the first update for Angry Birds for Android and it is a pretty nice sized update. First, the game now supports QVGA screens so anyone who owns an Android device with a QVGA screen will have proper screen support with the graphics in-game.
