Ultimately, with this, smaller developers get vital exposure for their games and you get to have more games to play on your plate. So Google has made a list of the top 12 games that were released onto Google Play over the past year and there are some interesting titles they have picked. The games selected stretch across most genres and while some of their picks seem spot on, others are a bit of a surprised which leads us to ask the question as to whether or not you agree with their picks or if not then what ones would you switch out and with what game.
Back in November of this year we mentioned that GREE was partnering up with various companies to bring a rather interesting selection of titles to Android. While these releases would be Japan-only at first, chances are they will be coming to the rest of the world soon as seen with previous games released onto Android. One of these titles is now here, or in Japan rather, and it is Metal Gear Solid: Social Ops.
Electronic Arts is actually having quite the sale this holiday seasons and it goes much further than Need For Speed: Most Wanted and Contre Jour being only $0.99 for the holidays, while a lot of the free-to-play games EA has, such as TheSims and Theme Park, are having sales regarding in-game purchases. There also happens to be holiday themed items you can find in some of those games as well.

Tired of all the sales yet? It seems like we have been reporting on sales almost every other day for the past week or so and they just don’t seem to be stopping. That is perfectly fine with us since we get to score some good deals on Android games. This particular sale is from Infinite Dreams who have put two of their games on sale for the holiday season.
Chillingo has been pretty consistent with releasing games on Android over the past few months and this week we see another game arrive onto Google Play called Tiny City. This particular game is a city building sim with the usual overall goal of making your city as prosperous as you can. However, just because it is called Tiny City doesn’t mean that the game is small.
Pocket Gems have been developing games for mobile for awhile now strictly for iOS until recently when they finally branched out onto Android as well. Late last week the company announced it was getting into mobile game publishing as well, similar to what other companies like Gamevil are doing, with publishing 3rd party mobile games. Their first partner game has arrived on Google Play called Chasing Yello.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition News – Online Multiplayer in development, next update will be 0.5.1, Signs and Armor
There have been some tidbits of information about Minecraft: Pocket Edition regarding future features and updates from one the main developers on the project, Johan Bernhardsson. While we have news on the next update that will arrive for Minecraft: Pocket Edition and what it will come with, what we are really excited about is what Johan has been working on aside from the next update.
The first release from a recently formed indie studio called Greenlit Games has arrived on Google Play called Words’n’Blox. Even though Greenlit Games is a relatively new studio, it is made up of some industry veterans who used to work for EA Playfish so the quality of this game is actually pretty good. So what exactly is Words’n’Blox?
