When the Ouya was announced many many moons ago, one game that was supposed to be one of the headlining titles for the Android-powered game console was Hawken, the mech-filled combat MMOFPS game that many of us would actually like to play. With the new announcement of Hawken being released onto Steam this month, it begs the question as to where the Ouya version of this game is and if we will ever actually see it.
Soul Fjord is a rare type of game. It’s ambitious, it possesses a strong, defining sense of style, place and time. It’s marriage of 1970’s Funk and Norse Mythology feels completely natural. It’s one of the rare instances of a game that attempts of a Tarantino-esque mash-up of style and genre, and under the leadership of Kim Swift, Soul Fjord pulls this off deftly.
This rumor has been floating around since the later part of 2013 but apparently there is a bit more validity to it now. According to VG24/7, Amazon will be launching their Android game console sometime this year and will be priced somewhere below the $300 mark. That price point isn’t surprising considering Amazon likes to try and make their Android-based devices priced as low as possible.
In the world of Android devices it usually takes no time at all for a new device to get rooted. Toadman Interactive have released a new game exclusively onto Ouya called Killing Floor: Calamity. If this game sounds familiar that is because this is a re-imaged version of the original arcade shooter version of Killing Floor. However this is not an FPS game like the original one and is instead a top-down arcade shooter with plenty of blood to go around.
