Cyanogen becomes a company thanks to $7 million in funding, official installer on the way

While we don’t usually post about different versions of Android that are being developed by third-party groups such as the really popular CyanogenMod but today’s news make an exception for us considering this particular ROM has over 8 million users, a lot of which read DroidGamers. It looks like the company is about to go mainstream as Cyanogen Inc is now a thing thanks to the fresh $7 million in funding the company has just received through Benchmark Capital and Redpoint Ventures.

Nimblebit’s upcoming Pocket Trains game to chug its way onto Android on September 26th

NimbleBit has officially announced when their next game called Pocket Trains will be released onto iOS and Android devices. We’ve talked about this game a couple of times in the past already and while we didn’t know 100% whether or not Pocket Trains would actually be released onto Android, since there has been no official word up until now regarding an Android version. we do now know that it will be on Android and we now have an official release date.

New updates for three Angry Birds game now available. Angry Birds Star Wars II gets a new gameplay trailer.

Over the past few days Rovio has been busy pumping out the updates for almost all of their Angry Birds games. The company has released an update for Angry Birds, Angry Birds Space and Angry Birds Star Wars which brings new levels to all three games. Not bad considering Rovio is currently working on the rather large sequel to Angry Birds Stars Wars right now.

Ouya founder responds to Free the Games Fund controversy. Developer reactions not so good.

So if you’ve been following the news lately then you already have an idea about what is going on regarding Ouya’s Free The Games fund in conjunction with Kickstarter. For those of you not familiar with any of this, basically if a developer Kickstarts a game for Ouya and is successful with the funding, Ouya will match the developer’s goal amount. The only two requirements are that the game in question will be exclusive to Ouya for a set period of time and that the funding goal be at least $50,000.

Fates Forever is an upcoming MOBA title designed for tablets

The world of MOBA games looks to continue its advancement into the mobile gaming scene as a new title is currently under development called Fates Forever. Currently we have a couple of titles in this genre already available to us. One is from Gameloft called Heroes of Order and Chaos while another is a bit different of a style of MOBA gaming called Champs: Battlegrounds.
