Tearaway Unfolded for the PS4 to have mobile companion app

Tearaway is a platformer, set in a word where everything inside (villains, landscape, protagonist, etc) are all made of colored paper. It was originally released for the PS Vita, with another version coming to the PS4 this Fall with a similar name, Tearaway Unfolded. Along with the console release will come a companion app that allows a second player to partake of the experience as well.

YouTube will be releasing an app specifically geared towards gaming videos. Live streaming tool improved as well.

YouTube has their main application for mobile devices and it does a pretty good job already. However, because gaming is so big in general, YouTube will be releasing a secondary app which is geared towards gaming videos and content on YouTube, and nothing else. It’s a pretty interesting move as it puts them in direct competition with Twitch as well as some of the smaller streaming apps.

PSA: The Sony Playstation Remote Play Port on XDA has moved. Here is where you can find it.

So back in February 2015 we reported on Sony’s Playstation Remote Play being ported over to non-Xperia Android devices which includes devices like the Nvidia Shield portable or pretty much any Android device for that matter. However, if you follow the link in that article to go get the app, you will notice one big change. The thread has been locked and closed. So where can you get this app? Well there is some good news. It is still available over on the XDA Forums.

Our official news app has been updated with some new features and a few much needed tweaks

We have finally updated our app this afternoon which, for some of you, is something you have been hoping to have happen for awhile now. You may have seen us mentioning on G+ that we are redesigning the app with a whole new look. That isn’t this update. What this update is for is to get ready for that one which will be coming soon. However, there are some new features added with this update and a few tweaks.

Companion Applications are an interesting concept in a lot of ways because you’re basically trying to take advantage of the mobile gaming industry, and the gaming industry in general, by extending the functionality of your game to include mobile devices. This could be for a lot of reasons and done in many ways, whether it is actually useful features, a second screen feature, news and update, and whatever else a developer can think up in order to make their games look like there is a lot more features to it then there actually is.
