Gameloft is a company that is known for its high-quality games. Their titles normally look good, sometimes being at the top of the charts for graphics. Unfortunately they’re also known as a company that tends to rip off or copy other titles. Even if that’s the case, nothing seems to stop this game giant.

A couple of weeks ago Gameloft finally released a teaser trailer for their upcoming Team Fortress 2 / Battlefield Heroes influenced game called Blitz Brigade. Now Gameloft has released a new gameplay video showcasing the game’s cartoon characters shooting each other in face.
We won’t mention ‘the list’… you know… that list. Yeah, the one that contained all of the apparently titles Gameloft would be releasing during 2013. We also won’t mention that every title that has come out on Google Play or that has been announced as coming soon since that leak have been games that were on that list. This new game is no exception to that fact either.
Strange news today coming from the folks over at Gameloft. While the company just announced their Q4 2012 earning which shows the company making quite the improvement when it comes to profit, showing a 27% increase in revenue over Q4 2011 profits. For Q4 2012 Gameloft pulled in a consolidated sales total of €57.7 million which also marks the company’s bigest quarter last year. So with such an increase in profit, news of Gameloft shutting down their India studio seems a bit strange.
So one of the games on that ‘list’ of titles coming from Gameloft this year is a game called Blitz Brigade. This is their take on the Team Fortress 2 / Battlefield Heroes games and features similar visuals found in Team Fortress 2. This title has a lot of potential to be quite good as long as it is balanced well.
So about a week ago there was a story we reported on regarding Gameloft’s Asphalt 7: Heat title and the fact that users were being bombarded suddenly with what looked to be Airpush ads. It didn’t help either that a forum administrator over on the Gameloft forums confirmed that Gameloft uses Airpush. Well Gameloft has sent over an official statement regarding this whole issue.
Gameloft’s first Unreal Engine powered game Wild Blood has just received its first update and brings with it a little bit of everything from new content to bug fixes. The biggest feature for this update is the new multiplayer mode called Juggernaut which sounds like a rather fun time for one individual.
When it comes to ads and Android games, many of us have come to terms with the fact that they will always be there. In fact it is pretty much a standard option of monetizing a game that a developer releases for free. When we buy a game, we generally expect to not see ads at all although sometimes they are included anyways. Well Gameloft’s Asphalt 7: Heat is now using Airpush which happens to be one of the ad serving services that most people find incredibly annoying.
It seems like Asphalt 7: Heat only just came out yesterday, but Gameloft isn’t resting on their laurels and are already into the deep development stage for the next game in the series, titled Asphalt 8: Infinity. We actually already knew of the existence of this game when Gameloft’s entire 2013 line-up was leaked, but now there’s in-game footage and a leaked developer’s diary to confirm everything.
Thought we were done posting about sales this holiday season? We you would be wrong if you thought that although we don’t have too many more to report on. However, Gameloft looks to be expanding their last week’s sale of Wild Blood and Order & Chaos Online for $0.99 by making most of their games now on sale for a dollar.
