Gamescom 2013 is well under way and while a lot of the focus right now is on the next gen consoles, mobile is certainly not out of the picture and is actually a pretty big part of the gaming-centric conference. To start things off, EA has made a couple of announcements with the first one being the mobile version of Dungeon Keeper which will be making its way to Android this Winter.

Back in March of last year during GDC 2012 we sat down with InnoGames’ Head of Public Relations Dennis Heinert where we talked about the company’s catalog of MMORTS games and how they would be heading to Android soon. Since then Tribal Wars arrived and is still labeled as a beta. One of their other big MMORTS titles called Grepolis has also been slated for release onto Android and it looks like the game could finally be getting released soon.
The other day we talked about the fact that Gameloft’s next installment into the Asphalt racing series of games had been delayed and that the August 8th, 2013 release date given during the Google Nexus 7 event wasn’t an exact nor official release date. That was some bad news but today we have some good news with Gameloft announcing the actual release date for the game via their Twitter account.
Battle Bears Fortess is the newest title from SkyVu Entertainment that has been running in a location limited beta for a short while now. Well the game has finally dropped the location-specific beta tags and is now available for everyone on Android. This game has a rather enjoyable 1-vs-1 multiplayer mode but also a full single-player campaign as well.
There is a new empire building 4x strategy game available for Android gamers to check out called Rising Empires. Developed by Hellhound Interactive, this game features six playable races with each one having their own set of unique abilities. There is also one very interesting feature about this game and that is there’s actually two levels to fight on.
DeNA’s latest big hit game The Drowning has been out on iOS for a short period of time now and while the game itself has received a lot of high praises, the free-to-play the game comes with seems to be a bit of a hot topic of discussion. You may remember us talking about this game when it was first announced back in December of last year where it was officially confirmed for iOS but we hit up Ben Cousins on Twitter to get confirmation that it would also be arriving for Android as well.
Back in May we talked about an upcoming 3D multiplayer cross-platform strategy combat game called Champs: Battlegrounds and that it would be heading to Android, iOS and PC in the near future. While the PC version has been available for a short period of time, the Android and iOS versions are now available as well on their respective app stores.
There are already two Anomaly games out on mobile and soon we will be getting a third one as well. Back in February of this year we talked about Anomaly 2, the official sequel to the Anomaly franchise, but back then it was only confirmed for PC release. Having been on Steam for a bit now, 11 Bit Studios has been working on bringing the game to Android and iOS, something they said they wanted to do back in February.
Last week we reported on the fact that R2 Games were gearing up to publish their first mobile game called Excalibur. This company usually specializes in browser-based MMO games and Excalibur marks their first jump into the mobile gaming scene. Excalibur is a side-scrolling MMORPG and the alpha version of it has just been released onto Google Play.

GamesCom 2013 is coming up pretty quickly and this particular convention surrounding video games has expanded greatly over the past couple of years in regards to hosting developers who make mobile games. This year should be even bigger and we are already getting news about games that can be played on mobile devices. One such game is called SteamPower1830 by Hexagon Game Labs but this won’t be a game where you’ll be able to get it off Google Play.
