[Game Review] Sometimes You Die: A Stark but Brilliant Platforming Game

Philipp Stollenmayer has created a wonderful and brilliant platforming game called Sometimes You Die. The main protagonist in the game is a square, that navigates its way through varying puzzles and sparsely colored environments. It is not a long game, but the fun you have in the game makes it well-worth downloading. Here’s the kicker, sometimes you will have to die to get to the next level.

In a mix of disparate concepts, players will have the opportunity to fly UFOs that are piloted by wooly mammoths. Players are looking to fire their choice of sixteen different weapons through three-dimensional sectors of space, but (being outer space) there are gravitational fields to be factored in, and are caused by things such as stars, planets, asteroids, and wormholes.

So Rovio has announced that an official sequel to Angry Birds will be arriving at the end of this month. That’s right Angry Bird fans, you will soon be able to download Angry Birds 2 on July 30th. The announcement originally came via a Tweet (followed by an official blog post) from the official Angry Birds account with a statement of “Bigger. Badder. Birdier. July 30th”. Accompanying the statement was a giant number 2 image with a very angry looking red bird inside the two.
