The rather popular game from Deceased Pixel called Super Mega Worm has made the jump from iOS to Android finally. If you used to own an iOS device, chances are you’ve probably played this game and are just happy it is now finally available for Android. While we already have a port of open source version of Transport Tycoon, called OpenTTD, but it looks like we are now going to have an official version of the game arriving soon. 31X and Origin8 are teaming up to bring a revitalized version of the original game over to Android sometime later this year.
One of Kemco’s recent games has broken the 500,000 download marks and to celebrate the company is putting all of the game’s IAPs on sale for 50% off until the end of the month. Machine Knight was one of the first games Kemco released that was free but supported through optional IAPs.
Another game has decided to add official support for the MOGA game controller and that is Tozai’s Games’ Lode Runner Classic. This is the release of the classic Apple II game in terms of gameplay but comes with a variety of enhanced features. If you’re a retro game fan, this is one you should own if you don’t already.
Amiga Games Inc has been acquired by Writers’ Group Film for a mere $500,000 which, considering they are apparently getting access to over 300 titles in the deal under existing licensing agreements with multiple intellectual property owners, seems a bit low. So why the hell are we talking about this news? Because Amiga Games Inc is a company that republishes classic Amiga games onto new platforms such as smartphones and tablets and Writers’ Group Film is a digital content distribution company.
A new action platformer has arrived onto Android that was inspired by some of the more classic games of this genre from back in the day where 16-bit games ruled. Developed by PewPewNinjaX, Olethros has you thrust into a weird and terrible world after your wife was kidnapped. For some particular reason, once you are there in this new world, a talking bird speaks to you and offers up his help.
Back in June we mentioned that Sega had come on board in regards to bringing their blue hedgehog over to the Android-powered game console Ouya. Well two of their games have finally arrived today: Sonic 4 Episode I and Episode II. Sonic CD is currently coming down the pipeline as well and should be arriving in the near future.
It’s Monday, the first day after the July 4th weekend and while many people do take today off in order to give themselves an extra day to recover from the festivities they were a part of during the weekend, plenty of people are off back to work like normal. Terry Cavanagh, developers of such gems as VVVVVV and Super Hexagon, has been busy porting over a variety of his older Flash games over to Ouya to start things off right. So far he has ported over ten of his older Flash games and is also strongly considering bringing VVVVVV and Super Hexagon over to Ouya as well.
