Whispering Willows is a game we’ve been following for some time now, from its original announcement to its Kickstarter funding and even when it was part of the Kill Screen CREATE competition for the Ouya console. Now it seems this game is finally getting closer to release as the developers have released a new trailer for it.

What do you call a man with a spade on his head? The genre of mining or maze building has been popular since the classic Dig Dug was released by Namco in Japan, and Atari Inc in the West. There have been numerous popular remakes of the formula including countless flash games, the widely popular Motherload, a personal favorite of mine Gem Miner for android, and even something like Terraria has arguably just subverted the old formula.
Square Enix has brought another Final Fantasy title to Android and this time it comes in the form of game called Final Fantasy Atigo. This particular installment into the franchise servers as a prequel to Final Fantasy Type-0 and isn’t a mini-game or anything like that but a full size title.
Normally when we report on bundles, they are of the “humble” variety. iKOiD’s latest bundle might not go to charity, but it does offer five strategy and puzzle games for $2.99 while passing on more of its profits to game developers than your average App store.
We’ve been covering the inevitable release of InnoGames’ upcoming MMORTS sequel Tribal Wars 2 for some time now. Closed beta registration sign-up began in December of 2013 and since then things have been a little hush hush about the actual gameplay and what it will look like. While players of the original game will have some sort of idea, those of you who are new to the franchise may not.
Ubisoft’s running platformer-esque game Rayman Fiesta Run will be receiving an update today which brings with it an additional 16 levels to the delicious Candy World. The tasty fun doesn’t stop there though with this update as Ubisoft has also added a new game mode as well as some other goodies.
Radiant Games already has plenty of good games that they ported over from other platforms onto Android and now we get one more to add to that list called JoyJoy. However don’t let the name fool you into thinking that this is some sort of cute little game. In reality it is actually quite the awesome arcade shooter instead.
Endless running games, much like the genre itself, seem to continue being made with no end in sight. While there has been a definite upsurge in the genre over the last couple of years, with titles such as Temple Run and Subway Surfers blazing the trail, many of the games come across as mere clones. Often utilizing similar mechanics and an aggressive cash shop, the genre seemed as if the only place it was running – was the ground. Enter Wind Runner, a side scrolling endless runner with a pretty face, made by WeMade Entertainment.
[Updated] ustwo’s architectural puzzler Monument Valley will be released onto Android at some point
ustwo already has a pretty strong following on the mobile gaming scene thanks to their past releases and their latest one is doing pretty damn good already on iOS. However if you’re on Android and want to check this game out, you’ve been out of luck. That is changing though as ustwo is working on an Android version of Monument Valley.
Anodyne is a single-player, top-down, Action-RPG for the Android platform. I’m quite fond of this style of game as it recalls memories of playing the older Legend of Zelda titles from my childhood, where you go off adventuring through strange lands and find helpful items and interesting characters to chat with along the way. While Anodyne has these features and they really make this game an enjoyable experience to play all the way through, it also has a look and feel that is very distinct from other Action-RPGs, and is quite unique to itself.
