Well it is a new year here at DroidGamers. We have a new website design and a somewhat new column: Larry’s (the incredible edible squirrel) Play Corner. We started this a few months ago but now we are back and ready to go. In this column, Larry will provide some short reviews / summaries on some of the other the neat games and apps out there on Google Play. Enjoy!
Modern War is a game from GREE which is essentially a graphical MMORTS game for your Android device that is themed around military and war. Players can pick one of six nations to play under, build up their forces and attack the players of the other countries in hopes of bringing your country ahead of the rest and eventually conquer the world.
So what you get when you mix Humans, Elves Dwarfs, Golems, and an ancient Evil? You get RPG Symphony of the Origin. This Kemco game is set in a period where Humans, Elves and Dwarves have banned together to fight Evils from the Earth-depths. You play as Ryle, a young apprentice swordsman whose parents were killed in an attack by the Evils.
Spacetime Studios’ newest MMORPG, Arcane Legends, has gotten an update today that brings with it a new Player vs Player feature. This new PvP feature is a team battle style arena for a Capture the Flag match where teams of four players with go up against other teams of four players to see who can get the most flag captures.
Back in December of last year we talked about the critically-acclaimed shmup Ikaruga and the fact that it had appeared on Google Play albeit for residents of Japan only at the time. Well the popular Xbox Live Arcade shooter is now available for everyone to download, not just residents of Japan.
Minecraft: Pocket Edition players know that Mojang is working on true online multiplayer that could arrive as soon as the 0.6.0 update if all goes well. However, up until now, and until that update comes out, we’ve been trying various ways to create a true Minecraft: Pocket Edition server whether it be hosted off your device or on a PC. We’ve seen a few projects aiming towards this goal but now it seems one has actually accomplished this and it’s called PocketMine-MP.
Back in September of last year we talked about a location-based MMORPG that had just opened up sign-ups for closed beat testing. Since then Life is Magic has been in beta testing until recently when it was released onto iOS. Well Red Robot Games has opened the doors to everyone on Android now to join in on their rather unique game.
So two months ago we covered a game called Realms of Fortune by Gamaray LTD, and it is now happily out of beta and has a new release version, that being v1.2. In 1.2 the developers seemed to have added a lot more content for us to play with and have included new things like fishing/hunting and potion making, as well as higher level caps, new level perks, and even new dungeon types.
A couple of days ago we talked about Sega’s upcoming game Kingdom Conquest II and that early registration had gone live and anyone who registered ahead of time would get two rare limited run monsters as a prize. Well if you haven’t gotten a chance to do that then you’re out of luck since Sega’s Kingdom Conquest II is now live on Google Play.
