There has only been one real Lemmings clone or style game on the Android market called Bunny Mania. Other then that if you want to play a Lemmings style game you are pretty much locked down to using an emulator. Well not anymore because Polarbit, who makes some of the best 3D games for Android, just released Fuzzies which is a Lemmings type of game.
In the wide world of physics games, there are only a few developers pumping out really good quality titles. RedX, developed by AlBrAndroid, is one of those titles. Using the orientation sensor on your phone you work your way through a multitude of levels solving the puzzles. This game really tests your brain with problem solving skills with each puzzle having multiple solutions too.
Hyperbees developed the widely popular tunnel racing game, SpeedX 3D, and have been hard at work on their new title which just dropped onto the Android market called Prism 3D. In this game you tilt your device to move the bouncing beach ball along the tiles, collecting points and finishing each stage by getting the ball to the checkered flag tiles.
While pipe puzzle games are not exactly abundant on the Android market right now, what is on there is actually less then great in terms of art and gameplay, that is until Pipe Dreams by Epic Applications came to Android. Pipe Dreams is a pipe puzzle game with good art, excellent animation and a fun style of gameplay for your Android device.
Word Drain is a word puzzle game developed by MichaelRanch Software. While word puzzle games are all good if you enjoy those types of games, there happens to be a ton of them on the Android market. How does Word Drain stack up to the rest of them? Well you’re about to find out as we review this new word puzzle game just released onto the Android market.
I think the developer for this game, Falling Domino, says it best in the game description: “Do you remember when we were kids, we used to arrange dozens of Domino tiles in long chains, and then toppled the first to make them all fall?”. I don’t know about anyone else but I remember doing that and now you can on your Android phone!
One of our followers on Twitter commented on how we need an educational time waster. Well there is a new game out on the market called Atomic, developed by Bad Pixel, in which you have to reconstruct molecules that have their parts scattered around the playing field. While learning the parts of molecules and how they are built, you also have some tricky puzzles to solve.
Pitman, released by Alawar Entertainment, is a gem miner style game where you control a mining/harvester machine to dig around every stage and collect as much of the gems and gold you find without dieing. While the concept is nothing new for the most part, the execution is fairly well done with original graphics and sounds throughout the game.
From the developers of some great games such as Shoppers Paradise and Archipelago comes Dragon Fire. Second Gear Games has ported over their iPhone game Dragon Fire to Android. This game is a mix of traffic control style game and puzzle where in you have to direct the path of colored balls of fire with various switches to complete the puzzle/stage.
While looking through the market for new games to try out I came across one called Force of Attraction or FoA for short which is developed by Milleson. This is a neat little platform game where you control your guy, completing each stage by figuring out the correct way to get to the key you need before you can unlock the door and progress to the next stage.
