The race in the new console wars has begun with proponents for each side. Will the new Xbox 720 (code named Durango), or the the Playstation 4 (code named Orbis)come out on top? Right now it is anyone guess. What is a sure bet though is that both are likely to make use of your smartphone or tablet. We have already seen a glimpse of that future with the current Xbox console and its SmartGlass app.

Everyone who is a Baldur’s Gate fan have been waiting patiently for the Android version of Baldur’s Gate: Enhanced Edition to get released onto Google Play. Now it looks like we could be finally seeing the game getting released soon as Overhaul Games are going to sit down and have a hardcore jam session starting next week to get it fixed.
There is a new game heading our way which will allow players to shoot not one but six animals out of their face. Developed by indie studio Butterscotch Shenanigans, Towelfight 2: The Monocle of Destiny will be bringing this dual-joystick animal projecting fun to Android soon where you will be playing as Hardik, a suave, bearded man from India with a pet Pug named Bella.
We’ve been talking about the new series of pinball tables coming from Zen Studios themed around the Star Wars universe. Well now we have an official release date as well as some additional details that, if you’re planning on getting these tablets, you will want to know ahead of time.
There is a new Indie Game Developer on the block and that’s the Austin, Texas based company Paralarc. Paralarc was created this year and consists of a few programmers whose focus is bringing free and intense games to the Android market. Paralarc believes that even though a free game with IAP’s has proven to be a working model, they also believe that any content that can be purchased should not limit the player form having a great gaming experience and should be available to be earned through the skill of the player. To prove that Paralarcs’ first release will be an Android game called Battle Moon 2075 and it is scheduled to be released in May.
Luma Arcade and Kerosene Games have a total of three more games that are currently under development and slated for release onto Android when they are done. Racer looks to be a joint project between Luma Arcade and Kerosene Games while The Harvest and Core appear to be from Luma Arcade themselves.
Kerosene Games and Luma Arcade look like they work on a fair amount of their games with a bit of a team effort. Both have had their hands dirty in Bladeslinger as well as a few upcoming games we will touch on later. Open-Reset is responsible for another game we’ve talked about in the past, and even had some hands-on time with, called Bounty Arms THD, which Kerosene Games is also helping out on.
The Trese Brothers have been around for quite some time on Android with a few rather successful RPG titles like Star Traders and Templar Assault under their belts. Their next undertaking is called Heroes of Steel and is currently up on Kickstarter for funding which it has been fully funded with 12 days to go.
Some of you may remember a rather popular 4-player arcade game called Gauntlet which eventually made it to a few consoles as well. OrangePixel has been showing off some footage of a prototype game they are working on that is in the style of Gauntlet but with their own added flare to it. Currently the game is unnamed and is simply being called Untitled Dungeon Crawler.
Last week the finalists were selected for Kill Screen’s CREATE game competition for the upcoming Android-powered console OUYA. The finalists were all pretty strong in all the categories including the one for the grand prize. Now the winners have been selected for each category and here are the results.
