Nvidia’s Tegra 4 Android-powered handheld gaming device Shield will be officially launching tomorrow. For those of you who pre-ordered one of these, shipping of your orders will also begin tomorrow which means you should have your hands on your new Shield in a matter of days.

While Google’s Chromecast has only been available since the company announced it last week, someone has already hacked the streaming device and stuffed a GameBoy emulator into it. Most people won’t be surprised at the fact that the Chromecast got hacked an something like this was stuck onto it but how games are loaded up and played is actually pretty interesting.
Mad Catz unveiled their entry into the Android-powered console arena during E3 2013 which is called Mojo. While the console was on display at E3 and subsequent shows for some hands-on loving, the hardware within the console itself was there was more for showing the prototype console then actually being finalized hardware for a production release.
Even though the new Nexus 7 Android tablets were announced only a couple of days ago and are slated to hit Google Play for purchase on July 30th, 2013, if you happen to be the sort of person that doesn’t like waiting a few extra days to order yours then you might want to head on over to Amazon where the $229 WiFi model is already up there for sale.
As pretty much the entire Android community knows, this morning is Google’s breakfast press event where pretty much everyone knew Google was going to officially announce the new Nexus 7 Android tablet along with the new 4.3 version of Android. Most everything was already known about this refreshed tablet through a variety of leaks but there were some surprise features announced as well as confirmation of some specs that were not 100% known to be fact.
More news coming out from Nvidia during SIGGRAPH 2013 but this time instead of it being hardware related with showing off their upcoming Kepler GPU along with Project Logan which, when their forces are combined, create Voltron… I mean Tegra 5. This bit of news is in regards to software being shown off running on the Kepler GPU and it isn’t some little game engine or anything like that.
While the SIGGRAPH conference has gotten underway this week, Nvidia has finally begun showing off some future goodies that up until now we have only heard about. If you follow us on a regular basis then you already have probably read here that Nvidia’s Kepler GPU will be making its way to Android devices soon. You will also probably be aware that the next chipset after Tegra 4 is codenamed Project Logan, or just Logan for those of you wanting to feel a bit more personal with Nvidia’s next chipset already.
If you follow Android hardware news on a regular basis then you’ve probably seen the plethora of leaked renders, specs and other details about an apparent new Nexus 7 tablet from Asus getting released soon. Many outlets have the official unveiling of this new tablet dated a few days from now when Google is planning to host a press event.
After a recent hardware issue that delayed Nvidia’s upcoming Android powered handheld gaming system called Shield, Nvidia has announced that things are finally underway and that pre-orders and anyone else who is planning to order the Shield between now and before the device’s release can expect units to begin shipping out on July 31st, 2013.
In more hardware new, PlayJam has issued a statement confirming that the delays they have been experiencing recently which has postponed the shipping of their portable Android-powered game console called the GameStick isn’t a factor anymore. The company says that it will absolutely make the new August deadline for getting units out to those of you who have purchased one already.
