While Square Enix may not be porting any more of the actual Final Fantasy games found on other platforms, at least not for the immediate future, that isn’t stopping the company for releasing spin-off games for the franchise. The newest one to be announced is Final Fantasy Artnik Dive, a classic style Final Fantasy game but one that incorporates a Free-to-Play business model and social gaming features.

In what seems to be a steady stream of quiet releases, Ludia Inc’s Dragons: Rise of Berk joins the ranks of other former iOS exclusives that are now appearing on Android. Rise of Berk launched on May 22nd as an iOS exclusive but as of today is available for Android.
Back in 2012, Stone Blade Entertainment led a rather successful crowdfunding effort to produce an all new cross-platform card game titled SolForge. Development of the title is headed by Richard Garfield creator and designer of the venerable TCG, Magic the Gathering. Given the pedigree of the talent behind the game, SolForge generated an appropriate level of gamer interest, culminating in $429,000 raised out of a requested $250,000. Following the consumer response, an open beta was released for iOS and Steam. Now, with the groundwork properly laid, Stone Blade has announced the launch of the Sol Forge open beta for Android.
A free new retro scavenger hunt RPG has landed on Google play. The story takes place on a bizarre and potentially hostile alien world where your character is tasked with searching for parts to fix their spaceship that had crash landed on the planet and left them stranded.
Back in April of this year we reported on Terry Cavanagh’s challenging retro-style platformer called VVVVVV and the fact it would be landing on Android soon. Well for those of you who have been waiting for this game to be released, it is now available on Google Play. However this isn’t the only game from Mr. Cavanagh as Super Gravitron has also made an appearance as well.
It’s hard to believe that it has been ten years since the game Sky Force was released. Now Infinite Dreams has released an updated version called Sky Force 2014 and it is pretty darn good.
Nival has finally brought their 3D tower defense game called Prime World: Defenders over to Android devices today. For those of you not familiar with this game, Prime World: Defenders has already been released onto iOS, PC, MAC and Nvidia Shield.
