Up until now there has only been two devices that are officially certified for use with Google’s Daydream View VR headset, those being the new Pixel and Pixel XL phones. Well there are two more phones that are now certified compatible with Google’s headset and they are the first ones outside of the Pixel line. The two devices are the Moto Z and Z Force.

This update for both tablet addresses some security issues, as well as adding Vulkan conformity to each one.

Google has always been hinting at brick-and-mortar stores in their future for at least a year now. While a true brick-and-mortar store by Google may be a bit of a wait from now, not including the Android stores that have opened, Google is opening a pop-up store in New York City this October 20th, 2016 to showcase their newest consumer devices.
Google really wants to make sure that their new Pixel line of phones is a success, along with the company’s newly announced Daydream View VR headset. In order to do that, Google is adding a promo code to each Pixel and Pixel XL pre-order that, when redeemed, will get you a Daydream View headset for free. However there is a slight problem, and that is most of the Pixel phones have been sold out via pre-order on the Google Store.
Samsung has begun shipping out the newest version of their Gear VR headset today which has been modified over the original headset so that the company’s new Galaxy Note 7 can fit in there and be used to play VR games. Besides the release of the new headset, two new VR games have been released today, but more on that later.
RiftCat has an application called VRidge for Android which allows users of Android-based VR headsets, such as Google Cardboard, to play PC Virtual Reality games on those non-PC VR headsets. Today’s announcement is a big one, which is an update to VRidge that adds SteamVR and OpenVR support. This essentially means that if you own a Google Cardboard VR headset you can play most, if not all, SteamVR games without needing to pay $799 to own an HTC Vive.
Razer finally makes their Turret Bluetooth gaming keyboard and mouse combo available for purchase
If you’ve been following our site for at least a year, then you might remember us talking about the Razer Turret back during CES 2015. Back during that show we sat down with Razer to try out the then new Razer ForgeTV along with a couple of different new Bluetooth peripherals, those being the Sevral Controller and the Turret lapboard and mouse combo. Well after over a year of additional development, the Turret is now finally available for purchase.
Nvidia’s Shield Android TV gets its 3.1 update pushed out today with multiple game optimizations and more
Last week Nvidia pushed out their OTA update for the Tegra K1 Shield tablet that featured plenty of bug fixes and optimizations. Today Nvidia has pushed out another update but this time it is for their Nvidia Shield Android TV unit. Sorry, no LTE version of their Shield Tablet update as of yet.
