When Square Enix announced a brand new Final Fantasy adventure that would be exclusive to smartphones, I was both intrigued and worried. Fortunately, I was not disappointed with this new game, which has been called Final Fantasy Dimensions, and, in fact, have come to really enjoy it.
Welcome to the seventh installment of our Under The Radar column where we showcase a handful of good games that we may not have been able to publish as full articles on the site. Luma Arcade and Kerosene Games have a total of three more games that are currently under development and slated for release onto Android when they are done. Racer looks to be a joint project between Luma Arcade and Kerosene Games while The Harvest and Core appear to be from Luma Arcade themselves.
Kerosene Games and Luma Arcade look like they work on a fair amount of their games with a bit of a team effort. Both have had their hands dirty in Bladeslinger as well as a few upcoming games we will touch on later. Some of you may remember a rather popular 4-player arcade game called Gauntlet which eventually made it to a few consoles as well. Last week we talked about Stone Blade who were going to throw up a quick Kickstarter campaign to get funding for an Android version of Ascension and Ascension Online. Technically it is one title with Ascension referring to the single player campaign while Ascension Online is referring to the online multiplayer portion of the game. Officially it is just called Ascension Online.
Ever since playing Polara last year, I have come to like games that feature the color polarity changing mechanic. Last week, I came across one such game called Bobbing while traversing the lower reaches of the Top New Paid chart on Google Play. Curious, I bought it to see how it worked. And boy I’ve come away impressed.
