Interesting little bit of news coming from Crytek regarding tablets and next gen consoles. It seems that Crytek holds the belief that if next gen consoles don’t come out soon, that tablets could very well surpass consoles in terms of being the first device people reach for when wanting to play games.
It seems after a bit of a dry spell we have something to finally talk about in our Humor series of articles and this time we can thank a Police Commissioner over in Australia for bestowing upon us his wisdom regarding video games and the fact he is blaming them for the increase in knife attacks he has apparently seen.
Some interesting news today once again regarding Glu Mobile but this time it has nothing to do with zombies or shooting them in the face. This actually has to do with Glu decided to drop what must have been a decent chunk of change as they have just announced their acquisition of GameSpy from IGN.
Last week we mentioned that Full Fat Games, developer of all the ‘Flick’ sports games, would be making the switch to the free-to-play business model and that the first title would be Agent Dash. Now you can dress up in a tux and be like James Bond in this new continuous running game.
During the investor call yesterday Zynga announced that they will eventually be bringing real money gambling to some of their games in the near future. As of right now the target time frame is the first half of 2013 but that is all dependent on getting through the various online gambling reviews first so they are legally allowed to do this.
The OnLive game streaming service is already available for Android devices thanks to their application on Google Play. It is also starting to become available pre-installed on some Google TVs as well such as the LG Smart TV (G2 series) via a future software update and the VISO Co-Star. However, that leaves other Google TV owners without OnLive but that will soon be changing.
Alright well maybe the title isn’t entirely true since you won’t be seeing a quick peek at what the site redesign will look like but you will get to see what our new logo will be. That might give you an idea where we are going with the redesign. Some of you who follow us on Google+ may have already seem the logo.
Right now Casual Connect is going on in Seattle, WA and that is where Big Fish Games has decided to launch their new cloud gaming service for TVs, mobile devices and PCs called Big Fish Unlimited. Big Fish Games have been around for awhile now, being one of the major website for people to go to and play casual games.
Last week we told you about a great retro style sports game themed around the Olympics appropriately called Retro Olympics. Well unfortunately for Brave Games Studio, Google seemed fit to pull the game off of Google Play due to an industrial property infringement since ‘Olympics’ is a registered brand. The good news is that it was due to only the name of the game and as such the game is now back on the Google Play store as Retro Athletics.
