The Game Developer’s Conference (GDC for short) is a great event to go to in order to see games that are heading our way in both the near future as well as projects currently being worked on that won’t be coming out for awhile. Redux Ark by Hyper Games falls into the latter category as it is still in early development.

As you may be aware, both GDC 2015 and PAX East 2015 happened last week and we were at both events covering everything that we could cover in relation to Android games and gaming. Since some of us were traveling, you might have noticed that news posting over the past week was a bit slow. Well now that we are back, things will be returning back to normal.
[GDC 2015] Nvidia announces the Shield Android TV console. It’s a singular device for in-home entertainment and gaming
Nvidia held their big press event at GDC 2015 and the company had been hinting at a big announcement, stating it was five years in the making. Everyone had their guesses as to what this would be, with a lot of people pointing to VR as being the announcement. We actually guessed it would be a console in a previous article. When the event began, the CEO of Nvidia Jen-Hsun Huang, came out and told everyone right away that he had three things to announce: a new revolutionary TV, a new super computer, and a new console. Turns out, it wasn’t three devices, it was just one.
The classic Mutant League Football will be making a comeback with a new version for Android devices
One of the top selling SEGA Genesis games from 1994 was a football game called Mutant League Football. This new version has already been nominated for the Most Promising IP category in this years Game Connection America 2015 Development awards. In other words it is looking pretty damn good.
Nvidia’s GRID service will hit 40 titles the same day as their GDC 2015 press event happens. Saints Row IV, Alan Wake, and Metro Last Light Redux coming to GRID this month.
More evidence is coming to light that whatever Nvidia is planning to announce at GDC 2015 has something to do with their gaming on demand service GRID. Today Nvidia has announced that there will be a total of 40 titles available on GRID soon. In fact the next three titles which will push the GRID catalog to 40 are some rather big games.
Nvidia is gearing up for a big announcement at their pres event during the upcoming GDC 2015 and while no one truly knows what the company plans to unveil, besides Nvidia themselves, a lot of talk is happening about what the possible things the announcement could be. One of the more interesting ideas, and something mentioned in the comments in our previous article about the upcoming event, is a set-top box. However this idea we’ve been reading about goes further than that, making the set-top box be geared towards Nvidia’s GRID gaming on demand service.
The Big Indie Pitch is coming and will be at GDC 2015. Pitch your game, get judged, and possibly win prizes!
Steel Media regularly holds indie Pitch events throughout the year. These are events where developers can pitch a game they are currently developing, to a panel of judges. If you are in the top three then you win various prizes that are meant to help you out with your game’s launch. However, a few times a year there are also Big Indie Pitch events and these are much bigger versions of the regular indie pitches. This means the prizes are also bigger.
Nvidia has sent out invites to the media for an event that they will be hosting on March 3rd, 2015 at GDC (the Game Developer’s Conference) in San Francisco. We will be covering the entire GDC event as always and this includes Nvidia’s press event. While there isn’t a whole lot to go on as to what we should expect to see during the event, Nvidia is making it sound pretty big. So let us play the guessing game!
One of the features that made Ouya appealing was the fact that gamers could try any of the games for the Android-powered console for free. Well this policy for the Ouya Marketplace, which used to be mandatory for developers to follow, is now no longer a guaranteed thing.
For those of you who have been fans of the perverted little man known as Leisure Suit Larry over the past couple of decades and who have been looking forward to the upcoming Leisure Suit Larry in the Land of the Lounge Lizards HD remake, it looks like the wait may finally be drawing closer to an end. Originally slated for release in 2012 after a rather successful Kickstarter campaign, the game’s release was eventually delayed until 2013.
