Looks like a variable amount Google Play gift card is coming this Fall

Right now if you want to buy a Google Play gift card to use, or to give to someone else as a gift, you have a set amount you can buy. The most common denominations being $10, $25, and $50, although there are others out there as well. However, if you want to do an unusual amount for some reason, you don’t have much option outside of either rounding up/down the amount you want to buy in order to fit one of the current Google Play gift card denominations. That, however, looks to be changing this Fall.

Project Ara delayed till 2016 with new market pilot possibly being in the US

You may remember last week when it was reported that Google’s modular Android phone called Project Ara was being ‘recalculated’ and that there was a possible change in plans coming to the project. The Project Ara Twitter account, where all of this was originally announced, also stated that we can expect more updates to arrive this week. Those updates have begun and the first one is that the release of Project Ara is being delayed till sometime in 2016.

Google announces it will use Vulkan for Android’s low-overhead graphics API

If you’re a developer, or a general technology nerd like ourselves, then you probably follow the news for things like APIs and other coding goodies. You may remember that not too long ago Apple announced that it will be using Metal starting with iOS 8, and that the next OS X version will be bringing that API to the Mac later this year. The newly released Windows 10 includes DirectX 12, which Windows Phone will soon be getting. So what about Android?
