A lot of owners of the original Nvidia Shield tablets were happy yesterday when we reported that the much awaited Marshmallow update had started to roll out for a majority of those devices. Well today Nvidia has pulled that update due to apparent Wi-Fi issues because of a bug arriving with that update.
While the newer Nvidia Shield K1 Tablets already come with Android 6.0 Marshmallow, the original Shield tablet has been waiting patiently to match its brother in OS version. Today marks the first day that Nvidia has begun pushing out an OTA update for the original Shield Tablets to get their Marshmallow goodness as well.
Adventure game fans, take note: One of the genre’s best specimens, Grim Fandango Remastered, is now available on Nvidia’s Shield family of devices including the Shield Android TV via Nvidia’s cloud-based game streaming service GeForce Now.
Nvidia, maker of a the Shield Android TV unit, Shield tablet, and the Shield Portable, also offer games that take direct advantage of their hardware, either linking to Google Play, or offering them through their own through streaming service called GeForce Now. With the latter, any purchase of premium priced games from there is also accompanied by a Steam code, for offline play. Through the end of this month, there’s a small group of games that NVidia has placed on sale.
Everyone loves a good first-person shooter with their tales of action, pantomime villains and awesome military hardware, but when the fictional fighting is over you might be left wanting something a little more authentic to modern day combat. That’s what Codemasters tries to deliver in Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising, which is now available to stream on GeForce Now.

Metal Gear Rising: Revengeance, a third-person action game set in the Metal Gear universe, is a must-play entry in the award-winning espionage series now available on Shield Android TV. It’s Metal Gear and as we know from previous experience, every new chapter in the franchise brings something new to the story, and when it comes to Revengeance it also brings a whole lot more to the gameplay.
This year Nvidia is holding their press conference tonight at 6PM PST, and you can watch it live in numerous places including right here. Last year’s press conference and overall show for Nvidia focused a lot on the automotive industry and Nvidia products for it. So what’s in store for this year?
With Christmas and New Years over for 2015, and being a few days into a fresh new year, this can only mean one thing and that is its time for CES 2016. Like always we will be there, checking out all the latest and greatest in regards to Android, whether it be a bunch of new devices, new peripherals, or whatever else you can think of.
