Sega has quietly released a new game onto Android called Spellwood which brings a bit of a different spin to the multiplayer word game genre. For those of you who don’t like playing with other people, there is a single player mode as well. So what is this game all about? Well this is a fantasy themed word game which combines combat and word spelling into one title.
A new game called Mr. Eyes has arrived from developer Laurent Bakowski that is one part basketball game, one part physics-based puzzle and all parts weird. You will play as a little alien guy who loves basketball and practices using his own removable eye balls. Mr. Eyes is actually quite a fast-paced game though so you’ll have to flex those finger muscles a little bit.
A new dungeon trap and puzzle game has arrived on Android from developers Thecle called Tlaloc’s Temple. This game is a 3D dungeon crawling title where you are trying to escape an Aztec Temple filled with traps that will quickly end your life if you take the wrong step or make the wrong choice.
Pyro Mobile has a new game for iOS and Android under development called The Moleys. This is a matching game but of a different nature than most other ones out there. That is because you challenge your friends to play it by hiding your moles in their gardens. On top of that, each type of Mole has a unique skills that can be used to make things a little more difficult.
ZeptoLabs have been teasing an upcoming game for about two weeks now and today they have finally revealed what that game actually is. Officially named Pudding Monsters, this game is another puzzle game that features pudding, or monsters made out of pudding. So how will this game actually play out? Well, we really don’t know just yet but we won’t have to wait long to find out.
For the most part Romain Guy, an Android Engineer at Google, posts on Twitter his idea of what the best game out is for each day and usually we have it covered already. Once in awhile one slips by us and that is exactly the case today with his selection being a new point-and-click adventure game from Bulkypix called Yesterday.
Let’s be honest, OK? If you’ve played one of these casual, hidden-item, Big Fish-style games you’ve really played them all. Well, sort of. While I’ve become very good at pointing out how many titles repeat the same designs over and over, and how this repetition has begun to wear even my battle-hardened gamer senses down, I still keep in mind that some genres will always be what they are… that’s what makes them genres. Sci-fi will probably always have spaceships and robots, Westerns will have cowboys on horseback and fantasy will keep it up with swords, dragons or orcs. It’s just how it is a lot of the time.
About a week or so ago we reported on Angry Birds Seasons’ upcoming update called Winter Wonderham which we figured would be arriving December 1st, 2012 if it was going to follow the same style that past updates used with the whole advent calendar system. Sure enough the update landed yesterday and it does bring back the advent calendar format for the Angry Birds Seasons’ Christmas update once again.
It is no secret that some of us here at DroidGamers love the rather unique indie games that land on Google Play from time to time. Games like LAD, Treemaker and Last Fish are all prime examples of cool indie games with very unique art styles that always seems to catch our interest. A new physics-based puzzle game called Freeze! is no exception to this rule either.
Yesterday we reported on Angry Birds Star Wars and the fact it was going to be getting a new content update today. Well that update has now gone live for Android players who will now be treated to a healthy dose of AT-AT Walkers and will also be able to use the pink bird, otherwise known as Princess Leia.
