I must say that for the first half of the year, Anomaly: Warzone Earth was among my favorite Android games. It had a unique gameplay mechanic, and was simple enough to grasp for a strategy game newbie yet challenging at the same time. Now, the guys at 11 Bit Studios are back with Anomaly Korea. How does this sequel stack up against the high standards set by its predecessors?

We’ve talked about 11 Bit Studios upcoming addition to their ‘Anomaly’ franchise called Anomaly Korea a few times already. Well now we get to tell you that this great tower offense title is now available on Google Play. So what exactly is a tower offense game? Well instead of placing towers around a map to defend your base, you are the attacking force trying to destroy the target being defended.
Having made a cameo appearance back in the Humble Bundle 4 for Android, Omni Systems has finally launched their atmospheric RTS game called Eufloria HD. This rather unique RTS title won’t have robots, futuristic structures or different alien races to battle against or play as with 3D-ish rendered graphics. Instead it is all plant-based with great ambient music and a really unique art style to it. If you got the Humble Bundle 4 for Android, then you are already enjoying this game.
Herocraft has turned ten years old and to celebrate this double-digit anniversary they have put all of their games on sale for a limited time. This also happens to be the perfect time for label this as another holiday season sale as well. Either way you look at it though, you can get any Herocraft game for your Android device for a mere $0.99 right now.
Fans of Tower Defense games have another title to check out today from i-FREE Innovations called Total Defense 3D. This is a military themed tower defense game where you won’t just be going up against other human armies but also alien ones as well. You’ll be conquering planets, upgrading technologies and holding off enemy advances.
A new RTS game has landed on Android called OutFight. Developed by AMT Games, OutFight has you controlling one army of green-skinned goblin-like creatures and battling it out with other armies of green-skinned goblin-like creatures, which ends up being a whole lot of green-skinned goblin-like creatures. Thankfully they wear different colored shirts.
While everyone sits around whacking away at a giant cube in the hopes of being the person to land the last hit which will then reveal the secret within the cube, Peter Molyneux and his studio called 22 Cans are already working on their next game called Godus. Once again they have hit up Kickstarter to get funding for this new project which has nothing to do with whacking or cubes.
I started off by playing Global Outbreak as I do with any other title I review. I download, start following the on-screen prompts and hope that the game doesn’t suck. I’ve got about a 50/50 chance that the game will be pretty good, and a very tiny chance of the game being magnificent. The problems with unoriginality and repeated design that have plagued MMORPGs and social games have infected mobile gaming as well. The simple truth is that most designers know more about coding than they do about making an original product that is also fun.
It’s been about a week since Humble Bundle 4 for Android was released into the wild for all to buy and download. Featuring five games already, six if you include the unlockable Machinarium game if you chose to pay over the average amount being paid for the bundle at the time of you purchasing it, the Humble Bundle 4 for Android has seen quite a bit of success, selling over 124,000 bundles, adding up to over $760,000 in total sales in the first week. To celebrate this, the folk over at Humble Bundle have added five more gamed to make the total 10 that you will get, 11 if you pay more than the average.
By now, I suppose all of you know of the Humble Bundle for Android 4, and have in the process snagged yourselves five (or six, if you paid above the average) great indie games that are mostly making their debut on Android. If you haven’t already got the bundle, then do yourself and the whole of humanity a favor by getting it!
