I’m supposed to explain to you what I thought about My Little Pony, a new adorable city-builder by Gameloft. I could make it really easy and say that it is a pretty charming, well-made city-builder and mini-game collection that is really nothing new. Sure, it has a nice pink coating of Pony magic all over it, but the mechanics have been seen a million times. This is par for the Gameloft course; they specialize in re-creation.

In 1994 the original Theme Park was released and at the tender age of 7 it was one of my first PC games I owned. Just building amazing rides and attractions and being able to actually see them running made it an amazing experience. So has EA been able to replicate this feat on our beloved Android system?
A few days ago we talked about a new 3D MMORPG that would be arriving to numerous platforms called Knightly Adventures from Pangalore. This particular game combines city building gameplay with a full on MMORPG experience for a rather unique combination of gameplay under one title. We also reported that it would be coming today to Google Play along with all the other platforms it has been slated for release on including iOS and Facebook for PC gamers.
Frontier Developments have started up a Kickstarter campaign to help getting a sequel to their rather popular classic space trading sim game called Elite which was originally released back in 1984. At the time Elite featured a revolutionary blend of 3D wire frame graphics and vast procedurally generated galaxies that had not really been accomplished before. Now they are looking to bring a sequel, called Elite: Dangerous, to PCs and David Braben of Frontier Developments has come out to say that they may bring the sequel to mobile devices should they hit/surpass their goal for their Kickstarter campaign.
Once in awhile we get to report on news that, in this day and age, we really shouldn’t have to report on but end up having to anyways due to the popularity of a particular game and the fact that there surely are Android gamers out there hoping that said particular game would be coming to Android. Today we get to do one of these reports on Clash of Clans, developed by Supercell, who has announced that a port will not be arriving for Android, at least not for right now.
We’ve reported on Star Command over the past little while from it’s Kickstarter project start to the 15 minute early gameplay rundown and everything in between. Well the developers have posted a new update over on their Kickstarter page that gives us a better idea of when Star Command will be released, what still needs to be done, and even a new video.
ngmoco have released two new games onto their Mobage social gaming platform on Google Play called Boney the Runner and Monster Mall, both of which fit perfectly into the Halloween theme that still is lingering in the air today. However, both games are completely different from each other with Boney the Runner being a running game while Monster Mall happens to be a sort of Tiny Tower type of game but themed around a mall instead, populated with monsters.
Electronic Arts has been showing off over the past month or so the next installment into the SimCity series of games for PC which, if I may say, looks pretty damn impressive. As a SimCity fan, next year’s game looks to be the best one yet. It’s also no secret that Electronic Arts, along with other developers, have made it rather a well known fact that most upcoming games will feature some sort of mobile tie-in, whether it be just social aspects of the game, companion apps that also affect their PC/Console counter-parts, or complete mobile versions of their games.
Electronic Arts has released a new game onto the Google Play store and with all the Halloween news, whether it is a full Halloween themed game released or just an update, this game actually has nothing to do with scaring the the hell out of yourself or other people, at least when it comes to wearing costumes. You can still scare the hell out of people, albeit Sim people, in their new game Theme Park.
Atari today announced their upcoming line-up of mobile games for a variety of platforms, and by variety we mean iOS and Android. Out of the five titles announced, two of them will indeed be heading our way soon. Roller Coaster Tycoon and Dungeons & Dragons: Warbands are both slated for release onto Android but don’t get excited just yet as both of these games won’t make it onto our platform until next year.
