Roccat has been making PC gaming peripherals for awhile now and it seems the company wants a piece of the mobile action but not in the way you are probably thinking. While Roccat hasn’t jumped into making actual peripherals for mobile gaming, they have released an application they have been working on for awhile now that will turn your Android phone or tablet into a gaming peripheral.

The title may seem a bit weird but Google has been wanting developers to make sure their games and applications look and run good not just on Android phones but on tablets as well. Starting November 21st, 2013 when you log into the Google Play store from a tablet you will automatically be directed to a new section called ‘Designed for Tablets’.
11 Bit Studios is getting close to releasing their upcoming tower offense game Anomaly 2 and in order to ensure that the game runs smoothly on as many devices as possible, the company has developed a new benchmarking app and is offering it up to everyone for free in order to help test and prepare the game for launch.
We’ve talked about the open source media player XBMC and that it would be making its way to the Android-powered game console Ouya at some point when a stable version of the application actually exists. Well it seems that a stable version has finally been compiled and the XBMC media player is now officially available for download through Ouya’s marketplace.
Generally when we are talking about an application on Android it is usually either some sort of companion application for an already existing game, an emulator or a fan made application like a Live Wallpaper. This time we are actually talking about a non-gaming application getting an add-on made for it that deals with gaming. If you happen to use DashClock, there is now a widget that allows you to see what friends are online on Xbox Live.
While we were going to fire up our Ouya and do this ourselves, it seems someone has beaten us to the punch and has loaded the brand new high speed Nintendo DS emulator DraStic onto the Android-powered console. According to a user going by the name of MobileDecay (dig the name by the way), the DraStic emulator runs rather nicely on Ouya.
Back in the middle of July we reported on a new Nintendo DS emulator that was being developed for Android called DraStic. One of the bigger claims that this emulator makes is that it is a high speed emulator which is good since it seems like most Nintendo DS emulators tend to not run at full speed and actually end up running pretty slowly. Of course that is partly also dependent on what device you’re running it on.
Amazon has announced a new expansion plan that doesn’t involve expanding their service to new countries but instead expanding their catalog of apps and games available through their app store. However these won’t be coming in the typical fashion everyone is used to and that is because these will be web applications made using languages like HTML5.
Google loves to add Easter Eggs to pretty much everything they release and so far it looks like every single one of them has been found… at least to everyone’s knowledge that is. Well Google’s newest application is no exception to the rule which means the Google Play Games app that arrived yesterday has an Easter Egg that has been discovered.
While Google’s press event had the new Nexus 7 tablets as the headliner for the event, that wasn’t the only news to come out of the press breakfast. Aside from the official announcement of Android 4.3, Google also officially announced that a Google Play Games application would be launching today. This is something that a lot of people were hoping would actually see the light of day.
