There is a new tower defense game looking for funding over on Kickstarter called Tower Evolution by ArtfulBits Inc. What this development studio is trying to do is make a game that is in a genre a lot of people love, tower defense, but mesh it with a thick layer of RPG elements to form a pretty interesting sounding hybrid game. In fact there will even be heroes in this game, so it isn’t your average tower defense title.
Vector Unit’s highly anticipated sequel to their original and extremely good water racing game Riptide GP is getting closer to release. The company has already shown off some of the gameplay in a previous video, showcasing some of the new Jet Skis that will be in the game. Today they have released a new video, and actually plan to release more throughout the day, showing off some of the new tracks and stunts in the game.
While the decision was made official that it would not be another Alice game that Spicy Horse would be making with the appearance of the OZombie Kickstarter campaign the other day, at least not at first, the company has seen a bit of a bumpy road with the OZombie game as well.
Amiga Games Inc has been acquired by Writers’ Group Film for a mere $500,000 which, considering they are apparently getting access to over 300 titles in the deal under existing licensing agreements with multiple intellectual property owners, seems a bit low. So why the hell are we talking about this news? Because Amiga Games Inc is a company that republishes classic Amiga games onto new platforms such as smartphones and tablets and Writers’ Group Film is a digital content distribution company.
Interesting news today that happens to be in regards to another game development studio getting purchased. The toy company has been steadily getting more involved in mobile gaming over the last year or so, mostly with licensing out some of their franchises to have mobile games made from them.
War-mongering reptile filled turn-based multiplayer combat game TurtleStrike arriving July 25th
Back in December of last year we talked about a rather cool looking turn-based multiplayer combat game called TurtleStrike. This particular game is similar in style to other games of this nature such as Worms, except this has turtles packing big weaponry instead of a bunch of worms. When the game begins, players will create three different formations using a total of 10 turtles each.
If you’re a board game fan then you’ll be happy to know that there is another great game heading our way in the near future. One thing we can say is that smartphones and tablets have some pretty great board games already available to play and now we will be able to add Suburbia to that list soon.
Upcoming TCG called Tridek: Creatures of Galena is a little bit different than your typical TCG
While there is no shortage of TCG (Trading Card Games) available for mobile platforms like Android, this also means that the format of these games doesn’t change a whole lot either, giving us a bit of a predictable style of gameplay regardless of what title we are playing from this genre. Tridek: Creatures of Galena is an upcoming card combat game that is aiming to change up the standard format of gameplay found in your typical TCG title.
Noodlecake Studios have been doing an excellent job bringing some of the more popular iOS games over to Android over the past while now and one of their next releases will be the ever popular Minecraft-inspired The Blockheads by Majic Jungle Software. This particular game is pretty interesting as it looks like a spin-off of Terraria but actually plays out a lot like Minecraft, especially when it comes to building things.
