DeNA’s latest big hit game The Drowning has been out on iOS for a short period of time now and while the game itself has received a lot of high praises, the free-to-play the game comes with seems to be a bit of a hot topic of discussion. You may remember us talking about this game when it was first announced back in December of last year where it was officially confirmed for iOS but we hit up Ben Cousins on Twitter to get confirmation that it would also be arriving for Android as well.

While there is the question of whether or not FPS games are any good on mobile devices, the fact remains that there are a decent amount of them available. It’s really a question about the controls, whether touchscreen is good to use for the genre on mobile. Some people swear by using controllers while others are just fine with touchscreen controls. Either way it looks like we may be getting a ported version of Half-Life / Black Mesa on Android soon.
It’s about that time once again to round-up all the games on sale on Google Play for the end of this week. While the list is mostly the same from our mid-week round-up, there are a couple of new additional to the list and chances are there will probably be a few more games on sale over the weekend.
Our friends over at Crescent Moon Games have given us a heads up on one of their next games that they will be publishing called Neon Shadow. Moarbile Games has released a new online FPS survival game called Z End: World War onto Google Play in a shiny new beta form. As you may be guessing from the title, Z End is all about surviving the zombie apocalypse and you have a choice as to whether or not you join up with other people playing the game to try to better your odds at living longer. Of course you can always go solo as well.
Freyr Games have released their second title onto Google Play called Bounty Hunter: Black Dawn. This particular FPS game isn’t just your pure first-person shooter but instead meshes into it plenty of RPG elements as well to create a Borderlands style type of games. Visually the game’s playable characters almost look like they could be from a Team Fortress game.
Last week we talked about a pretty decent sized update that Gameloft was gearing up to release for Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour. The update even has an official name called Meltdown and features two new game modes to player against other people in, new weapons and other content to check out.
Phosphor Games and Paramount Digital Entertainment have decided to temporarily drop the price of their newest zombie survival movie spin-off game World War Z. What was once $4.99 is now a mere $0.99 for a limited time. So why the sudden sale right after Father’s Day?
While Gameloft was at E3 2013 showing off Asphalt 8: Airborne and Modern Combat 5 (which is pretty damn good), the developers over at Gameloft have been hard at work on an update for Modern Combat 4: Zero Hour which is being called the ‘Meltdown’ update. While most updates don’t usually have a name given to them, this one is actually a pretty big update in terms of content.
Square Enix has a couple more games slated to be arriving onto Android soon which they will also be showing off at E3 2013 as well. The next installment into the Deus Ex franchise will be making its way to Android, officially titled Deus Ex: The Fall, while Square Enix has another game called Mini Ninjas which has already arrived onto Google Play but are showing it off at E3 2013 anyways.
