Noodlecake Games is continuing the steady stream of solid game releases onto Android with their newest release today called Tower Dwellers. This is a pretty unique game that isn’t totally just a tower defense title. It actually plays out like more of a RTS game than anything but does have tower defense mechanics meshed into it.

I’m a massive classic gaming fan and nerd, and my love of all things video games goes back to the very beginning. My connection to the arcade is so deep I actually worked with my father-in-law for 6 consecutive weekends to construct an arcade cabinet from plans that I then set up with multiple emulators, but the most important of them is absolutely MAME: the Multiple Arcade Machine Emulator. To give you an idea of the extent of my love, my gaming handle going back almost a decade is MAMEiac. It’s in my blood. I love that classic arcade feel, and I understand the notion of playing a game for its own sake, or getting a high score; I don’t need a compelling story or modern trappings to find joy.

Super Boxman is twist on the Endless Runner genre. Players assume the role of the eponymous Super Boxman who is attempting to save his village from invasion, only the invasion is in the form of weird shapes that are descending from the sky. Whereas other endless runner games are as their name would imply, this game is played in a more vertical fashion.
A new game heading our way will put players into the role of being a bartender in a cyberpunk world. This new sim game is called VA-11 HALL-A and you will be mixing drinks that your customers want before standing there and talking to them about whatever it is they want to talk about. This could be anything from politics to how much their lives suck or how awesome their new house is. Pretty much any subject in other words.

Oscura is a platforming game available on mobile devices (both iOS and Android) for back in 2011. While reaching a modest 50,000+ downloads, it was nominated for a Webby award. The gameplay was fairly simple, controlling things like which direction to run, jumping, or slowing down time. The look was the popular dark silhouette foreground with bright primary and secondary colors in the background. I that it was a fun game to play that wasn’t all that complicated, not was it all that lengthy at twelve stages.
Tower Defense and Tower Offense games are something that Android has no shortage of. Every once in a while though, one will come along that looks like it’s been done right. Toy Rush, released by Uber Entertainment, looks to be one of those games.

If not, I promise I will make it relatively brief and then you can hit the download button.
