It’s all official now, the Nexus 10, LG Nexus 4 and Nexus 7 32GB

Well today was supposed to be the large media event Google was going to hold but it unfortunately got canceled due to the bad weather going on over on the East coast, which we hope all of our readers over there are taking measures to stay safe. Google, instead of rescheduling the event to announce the new Nexus devices, has gone ahead and made everything official today anyways through an online announcement instead. So what is official? The LG Nexus 4, the Nexus 10 tablet and the Nexus 7 32GB version tablet.

[Updated] Sony’s possible Nexus X phone images leak, could the rumors be true?

At about the time the Nexus 7 tablet was hitting the Google Play store, rumors of multiple Nexus branded devices coming from multiple manufacturers started to swirl. The rumor was that there would be up to 5 different Nexus devices coming from different manufacturers by the end of this year. Now, with a new set of photos that showcase a Sony phone with Google labeled on the back instead of ‘with Google’, could this be the second Nexus device that will be hitting the Play store soon?

Google Play now offers a free trial period for in-app subscription services

Not too long ago Google rolled out the abilities to offer up subscriptions that users can sign up for and get charged a monthly fee. The subscription service is available as an in-app purchase where, for example, if you like a magazine, you could subscribe to it for a monthly fee, usually around $3.99. As of today, Google has rolled out the ability to try a subscription service before buying into it.

Google Play sale coming today to celebrate 25 billion downloads

If you remember back near the end of 2011 the Google Play store crossed the 10 billion download threshold for overall downloads of apps and games. When that happened, Google put on a ten day sale which featured new games and applications on sale for $0.10 each day. You may also remember how ridiculously popular that sale was and how everyone had hoped Google would do it again at some point. Well it looks like that will become a reality starting today to celebrate passing 25 billion downloads.

Google is taking steps to prevent shady apps and games

Google sent out an email late yesterday detailing some new Google Developer Policy changes that will be taking effect that looks to take steps to reduce the number of shady apps and games, along with fake apps and anything else deemed suspicious on the Google Play store. Great news for legit developers who get their games cloned and for all of us who have to watch out for clones.
