It is time for the first giveaway of many to come this week with our week long giveaway craziness we are holding. We are going to start off by giving away two $25 Google Play Gift Cards to a couple of lucky winners for doing pretty much nothing at all. Entering this giveaway is real simple.
So we have been hinting at some giveaways that we would be holding since the beginning of January with the revealing of our little car and the site redesign. We still have even more goodies up our sleeves for you that will be arriving in the next few weeks and to celebrate all that has happened already and will be happening, we wanted to do some giveaways for our readers.
Google Play is an integral part of an Android gamer’s life, as one would most probably purchase games from there. Yes, there are alternatives such as the Amazon Appstore, but Google Play is the default choice in this respect. As such, it is important that Google Play is set-up in such a way that it can further augment a gamer’s experience while browsing for new games. Here’s 5 changes we hope Google would see fit to implement in the near future.
Earlier this week, Google quietly introduced a pretty big change in the way we leave reviews on the Play Store. No longer are we able to anonymously post reviews – we must now do so using our Google+ profiles, with our full name and photo on display for the whole world to see (this has not been rolled to all Android devices though just yet, but the web version already requires your Google+ profile).
For US Residents who missed out on when the Nexus 4 originally went on sale on Google Play, mostly due to the checkout process crashing and generally not working properly due to all the traffic, there is some more good news for you this morning as well. Google has announced that the Nexus 4 will be going back on sale today at Noon PST. Unfortunately this is for US residents only so anyone else waiting to get one outside of the USA have to wait a bit longer.
Good news for Android developers this morning who are a bit sick of facing the trolls on the Google Play store who leaving rather harsh comments in the reviews section of any given listing on Google Play. It was mentioned that this would be arriving and it is now here where should you leave a review on the Google Play store, it will post your name that you use on your Google+ account along with your profile picture. This is a mandatory new Google+ integration and should you not have a Google+ account, you won’t be able to leave comments and reviews.
Google is hosting another sale only this time there are no $0.10 or $0.25 games for you to pick up. Instead this Thanksgiving weekend has Google listing a selection of titles that have rather large discounts happening inside of them. We say ‘inside of them’ because almost everything in the list is a free-to-play game supported through in-game purchases, so the sale is in regards to in-game currency packages and other IAPs available within those games.
Fans of Crescent Moon Games and the titles they have published on iOS, and eventually on Android, have been waiting for the day that their games would be made available on Google Play instead of strictly on the Amazon AppStore. We for those of you who have been waiting, the good news is finally arriving on November 16th, 2012 when Crescent Moon Games will bring Paper Monsters to Google Play.
