Last week the Android gaming-centric tablet Wikipad made its way through the FCC making the tablet’s release quite possibly happening soon. Well apparently that ‘soon’ now has an official date for the tablet’s US launch while a worldwide launch will follow shortly afterwards.

ASUS has announced their next tablet that will be heading our way soon over at the Computex 2013 show which is technically beginning tomorrow but ASUS has decided to make their announcement today. This new tablet is actually quite a beast in terms of specs, not only because it comes with a Tegra-4 quadcore chipset and its partnering 72-core GPU but also because the tablet will be able to stream 4K content to your TV through HDMI.
Nvidia has announced this morning that when Nvidia’s Shield, their Android-powered handheld gaming device, launches that there will be more than 25 games tuned up for Tegra 4 devices. By tuned up we means enhanced with higher end graphics and controls for Nvidia’s Shield as well as other Tegra 4 devices.
Recently BlueStacks had announced that soon it would be releasing its own Android-based console system called GamePop which would be subscription-based in terms of accessing games. The unit itself has been up for pre-orders where you could get the console for free if you paid for a year’s worth of subscription service.
One device a lot of people are actually looking forward to but have had to wait a long time for already is the gaming-centric Android tablet called the Wikipad. Nvidia has published a blog post going into detail about the behind-the-scenes effort regarding their Android-powered handheld gaming device called Shield. In case you’ve missed it, the pre-orders are live for these devices as of May 17th and will run you $350 to snag one right now. While the behind-the-scenes look is pretty interesting, Nvidia has posted another video which showcases the final firmware of Shield, pre-loaded games that will come with it and more.
For those of you who root your Android phone, tablet or any other Android-powered device for that matter, there is some good news today. According to a thread over at XDA, some developers have been working on CWM recovery for Ouya and today have officially announced that Ouya now has an unofficial port.
Earlier this week Nvidia announced that their Android-powered handheld gaming device called Shield would be going up for pre-orders on May 20th, 2013 except for those of you who signed up for the newsletters for Shield update. If you did that you were able to pre-order one at the beginning of the week.
Nvidia officially announced the pre-orders were now live for some folks along with the $350 price and June shipping date only a couple of days ago. The company’s Android-powered handheld gaming device has somehow already made it onto TV but not in a commercial. Instead the device has made a cameo appearance in a sitcom called Modern Family.
