During our announcement the other day about our upcoming Charity stream we also mentioned that we have a couple of Nvidia Shield Tablet packages to giveaway. Last night Nvidia began pushing out a new OTA update for their Nvidia Shield Tablet which will bring Android 5.0.1 Lollipop to owners of said tablet. There is actually quite a lot of enhancements that will arrive once you have 5.0.1 installed including live HD effects for the camera, SHIELD power control and memory optimizations.
This week the Nvidia GRID was given two racing games, F1 2010 and DiRT: Showdown. They are availble for free to stream to anyone with a Nvidia Shield Portable or Shield Tablet.
So far Nvidia has really been pushing their Shield line of products over the past month, whether it be offering up a discount for Black Friday, Cyber Monday, or something else, it has been a good time to buy a Shield Portable or a Shield Tablet. Right now Nvidia has put up another deal to take advantage of for the holidays which features the 32GB version of their Shield Tablet.
Nvidia has pushed out a major update for their Shield Hub which will also require you to update your GeForce Experience software on your PC as well. This update brings a range of improvement for the UI of the Hub itself, improved GameStream in console mode, improved connectivity to Nvidia’s GRID and more.
Back when Nvidia was hosting their Black Friday / Cyber Monday sales, one of the features for this sale was the Green Box Bundle which featured games from Valve such as Portal and Half-Life 2. One of those games was Half-Life 2: Episode One and was only available in that bundle for people who purchased an Nvidia Shield tablet. Now the game is officially available for anyone who owns an Nvidia Shield tablet.
So the insanity that is called Black Friday, and to a lesser extent Cyber Monday, is now over and there were plenty of pretty awesome deals to take advantage of if you happen to have a bit of spare cash on hand. Some of the better deals included devices like Amazon’s Fire Android Phone, the unlocked version, which was discounted a rather large $250.
On Black Friday Nvidia hosted a sale on their Shield Portable and Shield Tablet products, offering up a pretty decent discount for each one. Well that sale for Black Friday has also now become their sale for Cyber Monday which means if you missed your chance to snag either device while it was on sale last week, you have another chance to do so today.
Future Shield owners and Tegra 3 / Tegra 4 device owners are going to have a lot of gaming to do over the next little while. A second dungeon crawler has landed on Google Play for Nvidia’s Shield and general Tegra 3 / Tegra 4 devices (and possibly non-Tegra device owners with Android 4.0) called Tainted Keep. This is another straight-up dungeon crawler with a story where you’ll be hacking away at monsters and collecting loot.
Black Friday is almost upon us and when that day arrives, the general population of the United States loses their minds and goes on a shopping spree. Of course this is because every merchant puts all their goods on sale with deep discounts. Nvidia is planning to jump in on the action with offering up a Black Friday sale for their Shield Portable and their 32GB LTE Shield Tablet.
