An indie developer going by the name of shabadage, at least going by that name here in the DroidGamers community, has released a preview of their upcoming game called Demon Castle. If you’ve been around playing games since the early console days, you’ll immediately see influence from another franchise showing up in this game, that being the Castlevania series.
Released by Nvidia Shield Partners, Stealth Inc 2 is a new platformer available on Android. In this game, players are assuming the role of a clone that is desperately seeking his escape from the lab/factory, known as the PTi facility. Players will need to avoid an innumerable number of deadly traps as they attempt to clear the facilities more than sixty different levels.
If you’re a fan of old school style of platformers, such as Super Mario Bros and other similar games, then there’s a bit of good news for you today. One of the games we checked out at GDC this year was a game called Super Phantom Cat, which takes a lot of inspiration from some of the classic platformers to have ever been released, but has a bit of a unique visual look to it.
Following the successful funding of a Kickstarter campaign, Montreal-based Thunder Lotus Games launched the Viking action platformer Jotun on PC last year. PlayStation 4, Wii U and Xbox One versions are also releasing later this year, but you don’t have to wait that long if you have an Nvidia Shield device. Shield owners with a GeForce Now membership can stream the game today at no additional cost.
Resting squarely on the shoulders of magnificent artwork and story, lies a game that is produced by Left Right Creative Studio out of Korea. Star Knight has all the right elements that make it worthy of downloading. It is an action/platforming game that will challenge you, and make you appreciate the talent of the studio that created it.
Fans of games such as Super Mario Bros and other arcade platformers have a relatively new one to sink their teeth into on their Android device called Oliver World Adventures. In this particular game players will be assuming control of Oliver, who happens to be a monkey, and will help him get through each level on his quest to safely check out the rest of the world he lives in, with the end goal being to get to the castle and stop the evil that resides in there.
Oh Crescent Moon Games… thy pixels do we appreciate! Hot on the heels of last week’s puzzle game Jewel Road, is another pixel-based entry for the studio. Elvin: The Water Sphere is a delightful looking platformer that will be arriving in the Play Store this week. It looks fantastic, and April 21st is the day it should arrive.
Released by Dodozen, To The Castle is a new platformer for Android. In this game, players will assume the role of Sir Petrionius, as he journeys through sixty different levels that are distributed throughout three different worlds. This game has no story to speak of, as it’s really just focuses on players getting the knight from one end of a given level to the other.
If you enjoy the visual style of games like Limbo, Firefly, or Dark Lands than you’ll be happy to know there is a new one that has just landed on Google Play called Toby: The Secret Mine. This game features the same sort of silhouette style graphics with a singular colored background, but a lot more details than in most of those other games we just mentioned.
Developed by Team Meat, the award-winning indie platformer Super Meat Boy is now available to download on Nvidia Shield Android TV. Inspired by classic games like Ghost ‘n Goblins and Super Mario Bros., Super Meat Boy is a precision-based puzzle platformer that puts your reflexes and quick thinking to the test. Super Meat Boy’s levels become increasingly challenging the further you progress in the game, too.
